The Light in Her Poetry

||My Sister||

From the very start, you've stood by my side

 Sharing laughter with you is a joyous ride. 

Among all the friends in my life's array

You shine like a gem in a unique display

In moments of need, I've got your back, 

Ready to defend against any attack.

 Though distance keeps us worlds apart

 You remain engraved in my beating heart

As my little sister, near or far

 You lend an ear like a guiding star

With each teardrop that may fall,

 You're there to catch and hold them all

A bright ray of sunshine in my days, 

You make everything feel just ablaze 

Deep within, my love for you is true, 

I can't imagine a me without you

A teacher of lessons, profound and wise,

 I've grown through the knowledge in your eyes. 

To you, my little sis, this I confess, 

You're my best friend, causing joyous distress

For you, my heart is a constant tether, 

An unbreakable bond that lasts forever

 Without you, life would lose its art

Here's to you, my sister, you have my heart
