In days of old, when love was pure and true,

A boy would ride his horse to be with you

Miles he'd travel, through fields and byways,

Just to bask in the warmth of your gaze

Not a wealthy man, but rich in heart's desire,

He'd spoil you with love letters, his words a burning fire

Each word penned with passion, each line a sweet bouquet,

Expressing his love in the most heartfelt way

And you, my dear, with hands skilled in delight,

Would bake sweet treats, filling his heart with light

Cookies and pies, made with love's sweet touch,

To show him your affection, oh, how much!

Amidst those simpler times, love's essence pure and clear,

Two souls intertwined, far from fortune's veneer

For in gestures so tender, in every cherished token,

Their love blossomed brightly, a bond unbroken
