In a quaint village, a tale unfolds,

A fair man from an old pilgrimage strolls

With his wife, sweetest in the land,

Clock makers, shaping time from grains of sand

A hardworking duo, love in every chore,

Adopting a fur-clad cat, cute to the core

Children and villagers adored their grace,

Planting crops and trees, life they'd embrace

In their deeds, the village found its anchor,

Donating, building, guardians for the children's laughter

Through the years, love in their hearts grew,

Kindness and warmth, a timeless hue

Yet, a test arrived, ominous and dire,

Attackers surged, setting the village afire

Panic echoed, families in disarray,

The couple stood firm, ready to sway

Weapons drawn, battle in broad daylight,

Against the invaders, they waged the fight

As attackers withdrew, a fatal blow struck,

The couple stood strong, but injury ran amok

Blood-stained and weary, their sacrifice clear,

Villagers and children emerged from fear

In her eyes, a soft gaze, a tender guise,

Hand in hand, their final goodbyes

Together they smiled, love never to fade,

In the village's heart, memories laid

For in sacrifice and a love profound,

The couple found peace on sacred ground
