She seemed like an angel, pure and bright,
Asked her out, her answer, a delight
Our love, once tender, now turned to ash,
For her, I'd surrender all, a foolish dash
Gifts of gold and diamonds, her every whim,
But her heart, it seems, belongs to him
To make her smile was my sole decree,
Blinded by love, I failed to see
With flowers in hand, I glimpse a betrayal,
Another man's gaze, a harsh portrayal
Dollars poured, yet she craved for more,
Comfortable with him, my heart tore
A friend's voice, a painful revelation,
"She's a gold digger," the cruel sensation
As rain falls, washing away my dreams,
Left soaked and broken, nothing as it seems
