Morelia opens the door and I pull her into a hug immediately.

She reruns it just as quickly and I feel a sense of comfort. I've needed a hug badly and she invited me over, so I took advantage of the opportunity. Gianna isn't around yet because she's still on her honeymoon and I hope it stays that way until her husband's jewelry is found because he is kind of annoying at the moment.

"Come in. Is everything okay?" Her words only hit hard, and I suppress any tears from wanting to come out.

"Yeah, I just missed you." I smile lightly causing her to smile back.

"I have missed you too. I've been busy being a mom and wife so I'm sorry for my absence." She excuses herself and I shake my head.

"Don't worry, I understand." I genuinely tell her as we make our way to the living room.

"I made some pink lemonade. Would you like any?" She offers putting down the baby monitor thing that I have just noticed is in her hand.

"Yes, that would be nice." I take up the offer and she smile before walking away toward the kitchen.

A few seconds later she comes back with two cold glasses filled with pink lemonade. She hands me one before taking a seat on her couch across from me.

I suddenly remember that the officer is related to her, but I don't remember in what way. He is either her brother or cousin. It's one of the two but I think cousin is the right answer because if I remember correctly, she once said she was an only child.

"What's on your mind, Katya?" She asks with a curious smile after taking a sip out of her glass.

"Your cousin." I blurt out without really thinking. I regret my words the moment they leave my mouth, and I can't help but feel a bit of embarrassment. Morelia seems to be in a bit of shock, but it looks like her mind is working very quickly at the same time.

"Amado?" She questions and I nod without thinking, again.

A huge knowing smile spreads across her face.

"Are you and Amado..."

"No." I immediately reply before she gets any ideas.

"Okay then explain to me what is happening..." She pauses and then becomes very serious. "Did he hurt you or saying anything mean?"

She has now become defensive as if she is ready to kill him the moment that I say anything.

"No, it's just that I think I have some strong feelings for him that are only becoming stronger every time he looks for me." I try to kind of explain what I am feeling because I'm not even sure yet.

"He appears in front of me randomly and it's not even to question me or to try and take me to prison. He just shows up and stares at me and only says a few sentences. I barely even know him." I let out everything that I've been holding in my brain.

She's the only person that I can talk to in the moment. My brothers cannot be trusted with these things. I'm sure they would have somehow found the officer and told him everything by now.

"At the beginning, he did start showing up randomly and was very annoying especially because he was convinced that I had stolen the jewelry, but in such a short amount of time I have developed something toward him." I finally look at Morelia after I've finished talking.

She has a stunned smile and look on her face as if she too can't believe what is coming out of my mouth. She almost looks proud in a way, and I am not sure at what.

"Oh my god, this is like a match made in heaven. My best friend who only has ever had eyes for diamonds and my brother who is a loser and is always lonely. Who would have thought?!" She has so much excitement in her tone, and it is clearly displayed on her face.

There is nothing really exciting about this.

"He went from being extremely annoying to being so gentle and soft toward me. He keeps caring for me and he even told me that he feels something toward me." I decide to continue because I have already said so much so why stop?

She claps enthusiastically and slightly squeals. "Did you tell him that you like him back?"

"No, I froze up and stopped functioning as a human being. I've never been a situation like that before where I like someone, and they like me back and they confess it." I tell her what she already knows, and she sighs lightly.

"And how did he react to that?" She asks with curiosity.

"He just excused himself and thanked me for the coffee I made him. He disappeared after that, and I haven't seen him since." I tell her and she lightly smiles while slightly nodding.

"Do you want him to know that you like him back? Maybe you can go look for him and talk to him to see where things might go from there." She genuinely suggests with hope in her eyes.

"If not then I can push him to go visit you instead." She tells me and it's evident in her eyes that she really wants something to happen between me and her cousin.

"That's not the problem. The problem is that I've never been in any sort of relationship. I also don't know if I'm ready for anything like that." Now that I think about it, this might actually be a good time to get into whatever it is that is happening.

I'm a twenty-four-year-old woman whose first everything was forcefully stolen. It's one of the reasons I'm like this and a little nervous about what is happening. Morelia doesn't know that and now isn't the right time to discuss it either. I've never had the courage to actually tell anyone about that night.

I just hate the thought of having to relive it through my mind while talking about it. It was painful physically and mentally. It traumatized me so much and I felt even more in pain when seeing how much pain it caused my parents emotionally.

"Katya..." Morelia speaks getting my attention. There is a concerned look on her face.

"I feel like there is something you aren't telling me." She states very sure of herself.

"I was just thinking about your suggestion." I quickly respond to change the subject.

It's obvious she doesn't believe me, but she doesn't question me further.

"I think I should be the one to go and talk to him." I'm a bit nervous with where things can go but I have to do something unless I want to be alone and traumatized forever.

"Do you want his address?" She questions taking her phone beside her from the couch.

"I have it..." I regret the words the moment they leave my mouth.
