It was a hot summer day and I was feeling restless. I had just moved to the neighborhood and didn't know anyone around. I was looking for some activity to do when I saw a group of boys playing baseball in the sandlot. I decided to go check it out.

As I approached the sandlot, I could hear the boys laughing and shouting. They seemed to be having a great time. I stood there for a moment, watching them play. Then, one of the boys noticed me and yelled out, "Hey, who's the new girl?"

I felt a little embarrassed, but also excited to be noticed. The boys came over to introduce themselves. They were all friendly and welcomed me to join in their game.

As we played, I couldn't help but notice Benny. He was the best player on the field and had a magnetic personality. He kept making jokes and making everyone laugh. I found myself drawn to him.

After the game was over, Benny came over to talk to me. "Hey, you're pretty good at baseball," he said with a smile. "What's your name?"

I told him my name and we chatted for a few minutes. He was funny and charming and I felt myself getting more and more attracted to him. As we said goodbye, Benny said, "I hope I see you around again, pretty girl."

I couldn't believe it. Benny had called me pretty! I felt like I was on cloud nine. From that day on, I went to the sandlot every chance I got. I loved playing with the boys and spending time with Benny.

Over time, Benny and I became very close. We would talk for hours about everything and anything. Our friendship grew stronger and stronger until one day, Benny took me aside and told me that he had feelings for me.

I was shocked but also thrilled. I had been crushing on Benny for so long and couldn't believe that he felt the same way. We started dating and it was like a dream come true.

Looking back on that hot summer day when I first met the boys in the sandlot, I realize how lucky I was to have stumbled upon them. If I hadn't, I never would have met Benny and my life would have been very different. I will always be grateful for that fateful day and the boys who welcomed me into their game.
