18.Chapter Eighteen

There are many things Noah did not comprehend: like how he could periodically hear quite well and other times he could not hear anything or how time flew and years go past when things seemed same but felt so different.

Noah could not understand how a day like today in all years of his lifetime his parents were alive except for the past five years when the disaster struck and he lost both of them to a mysterious illness. He did not understand why his own blood brother was full of spite towards his person to a point of wishing him death. Oh! Noah knew, over many times Esau had attempted to murder him. Noah did not understand how Esau was his brother, he was full of rage and vengeance. 

Why ? 

Noah had not even the slightest clue.

Noah often wondered what it was like, dying . Was it painful, was it like getting into a dream or waking up from one, was it peaceful, is it true that righteous people would see Christ, was it true that condemned would see demons? 

Those were things he could not comprehend. The fact that someone once said, every year you pass by the date you would die without knowing, it was scary to many but not to Noah. He was never scared of dying,  often wished he would know his exact date to help him set plans and organize himself.

Too much wealth, no peace.

That is where he was five years ago, too much wealth, no happiness. Noah realized something no matter how wealthy a man was, if his soul was sick, he would never be truly happy. 

Noah smiled then frowned again: still thinking of the things he could not comprehend. He thought about Lily and a lovely Lily she was, curves and all. How he loved curves and Lily's curves were quite attractive. It was strange that even her ears were the most beautiful ears he had seen and he was sure even if he saw her armpit, it would be a nice armpit. 

But ...

He could not comprehend it and it infuriated him. Was Lily having a fiance ?

Was the blonde guy her boyfriend ?

A surge of anger coursed towards him, why did she flirt with him so easily if that was the case, what game was she trying to play ?

Noah hated the brainstorming and settled for an easier conclusion: Lily was sent by the devil to distract him from his focus.

So he grabbed his bible and started praying

Lily was back coming back from her lunch break after Sampson had insisted on taking her out for lunch. She could not comprehend it however, her friend had developed some serious sets of confusing behaviours.

What was happening to Sampson ? 

In silly smiles, Sampson had encouraged her to order whatever she liked- something completely out of character, Sampson was never overly generous with his pockets.

It was as if someone had performed a voodoo  magic on her friend.

Lily ate fast, in a hurry to go back to her duties. As soon as she rose, Sampson was by her side, abandoning his barely touched plate.

"I'LL PICK YOU AFTER WORK-"

" I'VE A DRIVER -"

"NO! NO ! DON'T WORRY I'LL PICK YOU,"He had insisted, escorting her back.

What was going on ?

She fell silent trying to analyze the situation, Sampson on the other had tried to engage her into idle talks that she suddenly found annoying. He followed her up to her floor and when they reached in front of her office, Sampson pulled her into a bear hug and pecked her cheek just as she got a glimpse of a frowning Noah passing by- an unreadable expression on his face.

Sampson left, looking behind waving but Lily did not notice that, she couldn't .

Is Noah angry ?

Is he hurt?

Does he think Sampson is my lover- she almost gagged at the thought.

Sampson was like a brother to her.

Is he ...jealous?

Lily did not have to wonder for long because as she shut the door, a bold red lettering on a manilla paper stuck to the expensive wood read,
