I rolled around in my bed, trying to fall asleep. It was pouring outside, and I couldn't sleep. The thunder and lightning made me flinch, the covers rustling a bit due to my movements.
"Y/N?" Michael, my husband, tiredly asked. "Are you okay?" He rolled over so that his arms were now wrapped on my waist. "Huh? Oh, yeah..." My voice was shakey, letting him know I lied.
I love rain, but I couldn't handle storms like this. I just feel bad for waking him up. "I know you're lying. What's wrong?" He asked, his worry appearing.
"It's just the storm-" I cut myself off with a short sigh, before continuing: "go back to bed, I'm fine." I say, rubbing my eyes from the tiredness overcoming me.
"I can stay with you until you're okay." Though the sentence sounded like he was asking, he stated it more, letting me know he wasn't up for debate. I just nodded, shifting so my head rested on his chest, his breaths calming my senses.
I feel him pet my hair, as he thunder and lightning slowly faded away. It brought me a lot of comfort, making me smile softly. I felt him slowly fall asleep too, his light snores filling the room.
I focused on his breaths to calm myself. I got comfortable enough to fall asleep finally, snuggling into his chest.
