Anastasia's POV (Editing)

"You do remember that I have given you a task to fulfil?"

Kayden's taunting voice greeted me in the very early morning. It's Sunday today. I have been at home sleeping peacefully. But the bizarre ring tone destroyed my slumber and it turned out my brother couldn't resist himself so he ruined my perfect sleep.

I sighed heavily before asking him in return, my voice filled with mock

"Can I ask why you decided to call me at 5 in the freaking morning and that too on a Sunday?"

I didn't hear his response for a whole moment. I thought the call was disconnected if not he finally spoke up

"The network here is terrible. I can't even call for more than a minute."

He huffed loudly causing a chuckle to erupt in me. Currently, he's on a small island. He wanted to open a resort there. But I can see how much difficulties he's facing.

Kayden always lived a life of luxury. It's safe to say that he's getting alot of trouble settling up at an island where he can't even get a proper network. But it's his plan to open a resort there? He should atleast bear with it.

He hissed before speaking in a hushed tone like he's with someone

"Will you stop your nonchalant behavior for once and answer my damn question?"

The hardness and harshness in his voice made me quiet instantly. My mood went sour and all the traces of a simple sister to brother conversation disappeared from my senses.

I cleared my throat before speaking keeping my voice firm

"Of course, I remembered really well. I know what I am doing."

His amused chuckle made me grit my teeth. He chuckled like he knew I was just bluffing. I controlled the urge to not get angry and speak

"Kayden, could you once trust me on something? Stop treating me like a god damn failure."

I hanged up. I don't want to talk even a second to him. He had no right to treat me like that. I huffed loudly before throwing the phone on the bed. I stepped out of the bed and tied my hairs in a bun.

I put my phone on charging and went inside the bathroom to get fresh.

It's not like I can get a good damn sleep now..

I came out of the shower dressed in dark blue colored sweat pants with a plain black shirt over it. My hairs were still wet so I was ruffling the towel over them. I walked to the dresser and placed the towel on the chair.

I glanced at the wall clock and it was 7 in the morning. What a great way to start a holiday! I have been getting little to no sleep these days because of the work from both the companies.

Aaron had been literally sucking the life out of me. He's trying every way to keep me so busy that at the end of the day, I can't even able to move. He had successfully engaged me in trivial matters so that I couldn't focus on the bigger things.

I thought I could handle it alone. But I was wrong. I'm not dealing with the same sweet and decent Aaron Atkinson. I'm dealing with the new version of his. The sly, egoistic and exceptionally clever version. He definitely knew I was about to something and of course, judging by the way he saw things, it's like he's been blessed with a natural scanner in his eyes.

I need to have a mole. A one who can do my work under his nose without him getting suspicious. But for that, I have to pick someone. Judging by the way Aaron treats his employees, it would be hard to find someone who hold a grudge against him.
