I began reading through the website on Madama.
"You're going about this all wrong", Zach said.
"What?"
"You don't research the person, you go and find them and have a little fun dismantling their body", he replied.
Ryan hit him in the head.
"Can you not?"
He scoffed.
"Whatever."
I showed Ryan what I found.
"So, based on the people that we know so far, we can tie Madama to Sarah, Benjamin, and Sean."
Everyone turned to look at me.
"What?", I asked.
"Sean?", Tucker asked.
"Yeah."
He looked at Roman who was looking at him.
"What, what's going on?"
"Sean died in our last fight", Roman replied.
"Really?"
"Yeah, there's no way this website ties Madama to Sean. He's dead", Ryan said.
"But, this is an international source. It's only facts."
James came up and touched the computer.
"I can't sense him", he said.
"But-"
"But, that doesn't mean his spirit isn't lurking around", he replied.
I looked at the computer. Maybe James was right.
"I wanna go out and take a look around."
"What?"
"I want to go out and explore", I replied.
Roman stood up.
"I'll go with you."
"Okay."
He grabbed his coat and we headed outside.
"You know you didn't have to go with me right?", I said.
He smiled.
"Then I wouldn't have anyone to protect."
"I know, I'm just playing with you", I replied.
"Good."
"Yeah, even though there's a lot going on, I know I'll be ok if I stick with you."
He wrapped his arm around me.
"You would never know how much I care about you until I take the ultimate risk", he replied.
"Which is?"
"I don't know yet, we'll have to find out."
I rested my head on his shoulder. I truly loved him. And even though he didn't want to admit it, he was in love with me too.
"I just don't want either of us to get hurt", I said.
"I know, but no matter how hard we try, we can't predict what's going to happen.
"Which is why we shouldn't go anywhere without each other", I replied.
"Zara, when we go for battle, the only safe place for you is the hut."
I stopped and looked at him.
"Roman, I refuse to let you go out alone."
"I'll have help", he replied.
"But, you need that extra support."
Before he could say anything else a quick flash went by us.
"What was that?", I asked.
"I don't know, just stay close to me."
He pulled me close and I could feel the warmth of his body. He slowly moved us toward the shade.
"I can't see you, but I can smell you", a small voice said.
I tried to slow down my breathing. I could feel her getting closer and closer.
"You have a human with you?", she asked.
Just as Roman was about to transform, I stopped him.
"Show yourself."
We carefully went into the open.
There was a group of people in black robes. They were shocked when they saw me.
"Relax, she means no harm", Roman said.
The woman stared at me.
"Why do you bring this anthropoid into our land?", she asked.
"We're seeking Madama."
They all gasped.
"Liar!"
As she took a step closer, Ryan, Zach, Tucker, and James appeared behind us.
"I wouldn't do it lady", Zach said.
She hissed and backed up.
"No human reaches Madama without facing death", she replied.
"She isn't just a human. She's our friend", Ryan said.
Her people looked at each other.
"We are The Great Salmon People. We come to restore order to our land", one of them said.
"Yeah, and we'll leave you to that if you leave us be", Tucker replied.
The woman gave me the most horrific stare I've ever seen. She looked up and created electric waves through her fingers. She pointed to the sky, and there appeared lightning.
"Why do you seek Madama?"
"Because, we know she's up to no good", Roman replied.
"Oh, so you seek to destroy her? Well then maybe this human could be of use to you."
"You may not choose violence, but we will", I said.
This angered her and she looked as if she was going to hurt me.
"You are very brave to talk like that to an ancient master such as myself", she replied.
Roman stepped forward.
"We're not here to pity a fight with you. We came to search for answers regarding Madama and the Native Tribe."
"And you think we might be of use to you?", she asked.
"Maybe."
She grabbed a stick and drew a circle.
"This is the only clue you will get from us."
She stepped back and motioned for her people to follow her. I could feel my heart racing.
"What was that?", I asked.
"I don't know, but what are we going to do with a circle?", Ryan asked.
"There has to be some importance to it", James replied.
I looked at Roman.
"Could this be another part of her plan?", I asked.
"I don't know."
We walked back to the hut. My mind was solely on the fact that my life was at risk and potentially my Dad's as well. It angered me to know that Madama has caused recklessness over the whole world. I was tired, but I couldn't sleep. There was too much going on. And not enough time to fix it.
