My Reverence

Chapter 24

I stood at the entrance of the hut.
"I'm going to miss this place."
Roman grabbed my hand.
"Me too."
"We've made so many memories here", I replied.
"Yeah, we have."
"I just don't know how to say goodbye to my family and friends."
Roman looked at me.
"You don't have to", he replied.
"I don't?"
"No, because this isn't goodbye."
"Then what is it?", I asked.
"This is a temporary break."
"A break?"
"Yeah, we'll come back and visit one day", Roman replied.
I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Well when we do, hopefully not too much has changed."
He kissed me.
"I want you to come with me so we can be together", he said.
"I know."
"And I promise I'll protect you."
"Yeah", I replied.
"Even if it means risking my life everyday."
I looked ahead.
"Roman, no matter what we go through, I'll still choose you."
"And I'll stand by you no matter what", he said.
I teared up.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
He walked ahead and held out his hand.
"Will you come with me?", he asked.
I looked up at the sky.
"I'll be back guys."
I took his hand and we walked through the portal.

And with that, our new adventure began. We went on to live with the others in their world. We got to see many aspects and explore the endless possibilities ahead of us. And most importantly, me and Roman got to live the life we've always wanted. A place full of beauty and peace.

To my Dad and Best friend Isabelle,

       This isn't goodbye. One day, I will be back to visit. But in the meantime, I will be thinking of you and saving stories to tell you when I get back. I didn't want to cry, so I will keep this short. But I love you guys and I wish only the best.

To my former friend Luke,

       I don't know where you are right now, but I hope you're doing well. I know we haven't spoken in months, but I still wanted to thank you. I want to thank you for being a good friend and for showing me what heartbreak is because if you didn't I wouldn't know the meaning of true love. And even though we may never speak again, I can't deny that you have been a huge impact on my life. And for that I'm forever thankful.
