Amusing Apologies

***

"Yeah, and then I added paint to Jimin's shampoo, and that idiot didn't even notice it. He used it, and his hair turned blue for a few days. You know the worst part? He still looked good with blue hair," Jiwoo groaned, shaking her head at the memory, her frustration with Jimin mixing with a touch of admiration.

Jungkook couldn't help but burst into laughter as Jiwoo regaled him with more tales of her pranks on Jimin. It seemed like she had quite a mischievous streak.

"I think, no matter what you say, you really do love your cousin, don't you?" Jungkook inquired with a knowing smile, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Jiwoo responded with a heavy dose of sarcasm, "Sure, I love him so much, the most." Her tone was exaggerated, but Jungkook could sense that beneath the sarcasm lay a deep bond and affection she held for Jimin.

Their conversation flowed effortlessly from one topic to another, spanning the spectrum of their interests. It meandered from discussing the irresistible cuteness of dogs to wild theories about the existence of aliens hiding in society.

"I personally think Tae is an alien for sure, his habits and instincts are next level," Jungkook playfully speculated, chuckling at the thought.

Just as he finished uttering those words, his phone rang, and the caller ID displayed Taehyung's name. Jungkook flashed a triumphant grin at Jiwoo as if proving his point.

"See?" he said, showing her his phone, where Taehyung's contact was saved as 'TaeTae' with a smirk emoji for added effect.

"TaeTae?" Jiwoo asked, her laughter bubbling up as she playfully teased him about the endearing nickname.

Jungkook responded with a playful finger to his lips, indicating that he needed to take the call, but that their conversation was far from over.

"Jungkook, can you call Jiwoo and check if she picks up?" Taehyung's voice carried an unmistakable note of anxiety, causing Jungkook to furrow his brows in concern. "Jiwoo, why?" he asked Taehyung, and Jiwoo, upon hearing her name mentioned, couldn't help but grow curious.

"Jiwoo isn't picking up her phone," Taehyung explained urgently. "Me, Jin, and Jimin have been trying for hours. Jiwoo fought with Jin and Jimin because both of them are untrustworthy dumbfucks," he grumbled, with audible complaints from Jin and Jimin in the background.

Jungkook quickly reassured Taehyung. "Jiwoo is safe and sound. She was crying in front of the convenience store when I found her, and she's at my place right now," he informed Taehyung, sensing the worry in the older boys' voices.

Taehyung sighed in relief and promptly ended the call. Jiwoo couldn't help but protest, "Why would you tell them I'm here? I wanted them to worry some more."

Jungkook chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately. "You shouldn't worry your cousin," he reminded her gently. "I remember how he chased you down the road when you disappeared without telling him."

"So, do you want to go home or watch a movie? I'd prefer the latter, to be honest," Jungkook suggested, giving Jiwoo a wide smile.

"I'd prefer the latter too," Jiwoo agreed, matching his playful tone with a grin.

"We've been at this for 15 minutes, fuck it all, let's watch 'Frozen,'" Jiwoo suggested, feeling the urge to indulge in some animated magic when they had trouble choosing a movie.

Jungkook couldn't help but laugh at her choice. "Fine, just 'let it go,'" he quipped, embracing the cheesy joke wholeheartedly.

"Disgusting, I've never heard a worse one," Jiwoo teased, shaking her head in mock disapproval.

"Hey, I'm offended!" Jungkook protested playfully, feigning hurt feelings.

"I hope this makes up for it," Jiwoo said with a playful twinkle in her eye, leaning in to peck Jungkook on the cheek. Jungkook froze for a moment, his cheeks turning a rosy hue, before a broad grin broke across his face, his heart skipping a beat in the process.

"Fine, I forgive you," Jungkook replied, still slightly flustered by Jiwoo's cheeky peck on the cheek. He cleared his throat and avoided direct eye contact with her, trying to regain his composure. Jiwoo couldn't help but laugh at his bashful demeanor and affectionately pinched his cheek.

"Aw, you're too cute when you're shy," she teased, making Jungkook's cheeks turn an even deeper shade of red.

After preparing some popcorn and drinks, Jungkook started the movie. Jiwoo proudly displayed the snacks she had bought at the store. "See, I'm always prepared," she said, flexing her arm playfully. Jungkook chuckled and gave her a mock round of applause.

As the movie played and they settled into the comfortable atmosphere, the doorbell suddenly rang, interrupting their movie night. Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, wondering who could be at the door. "I'll go check," he offered, and Jiwoo nodded, sipping on her banana milk.

Opening the door, Jungkook was greeted by Taehyung's awkward laughter. He quickly understood the reason behind Taehyung's demeanor when he spotted Jin and Jimin standing behind him.

"Surprise?" Taehyung said with an innocent smile and an exaggerated blink, as if trying to appear as nonchalant as possible.

Jungkook let out a resigned sigh and gestured for the trio to come in.

Jiwoo nearly spat out her banana milk in shock when she saw Taehyung, Jimin, and Jin standing at the door. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at the unexpected guests. She scoffed and couldn't help but burst into laughter. "What the hell are these chimpanzees doing here?" Jiwoo quipped, pointing playfully at Jin and Jimin.

Taehyung quickly positioned himself next to Jungkook, distancing himself from the "chimpanzee" label, adopting an innocent expression.

"We're here to apologize," Jimin announced, his tone filled with sincerity. However, Jiwoo continued to regard them with an amused and skeptical expression.

"No, you're getting out right now," she declared, not willing to let them off the hook so easily.

Jin gasped dramatically, feigning hurt. "C'mon, Jiwoo, don't be so mean," he pleaded, trying to use his puppy-dog eyes to melt her resolve.

"You should've thought of that before setting me up on a pity date," Jiwoo retorted, picking up her banana milk again and sipping on it with a grumpy expression.

Jin and Jimin exchanged glances, realizing that they had a lot of explaining and apologizing to do. Jin took a step forward, determined to make amends. "What can we do to make it up to you? I swear it wasn't a pity date," he insisted, his sincerity shining through.

Jiwoo raised an eyebrow, giving Jin a scrutinizing look. "Are you 100% sure?" she questioned, squinting at him suspiciously.

"Yes, 110%, why would I lie to my bestie?" Jin replied, his voice filled with genuine regret.

Jiwoo turned her attention to Jimin, who seemed equally eager to make things right. "I'll buy you whatever you want from any store in the mall, or you can take my credit card for a whole day," Jimin offered, hoping to win her forgiveness.

A mischievous glint sparkled in Jiwoo's eyes as she contemplated Jimin's proposal. "Now that's what I'm talking about," she said, a sly grin forming on her lips. Jimin let out a sigh of relief as It seemed that the promise of a shopping spree had effectively mended their rift.
