The two arrived at his apartment, as Kazuha seated herself on the cozy sofa in the middle of the room. She glanced around his well-kept place. With a warm smile, she finally spoke, breaking the silence, "Looks like you've got yourself quite a neat apartment."

He chuckled, the corners of his lips curling up. "You're just saying that to be polite. I'm sure your place is bigger than mine."

Kazuha shook her head. "No, really! My place is like, half the size of what yours is."

"Then I'll gladly take your compliment," he replied with a grin, feeling at ease in her presence. He fetched two glasses and poured refreshing apple juice into them before placing them gently on the coffee table in front of her.

As they sipped their juice, He couldn't help but be curious about her. "Have you met with some of our old friends during your stay?" he asked.

Kazuha sighed wistfully. "I haven't, unfortunately. I haven't even told anyone that I'm going to be here for about a week, since I'll be quite busy taking care of some stuff." She smiled, her eyes reflecting memories of their shared past. "Enough about me, what about you? Are you still in contact with Yunjin-unnie? Chaewon-unnie, perhaps?"

He leaned back, reminiscing. "Well, it's been around two weeks since I last talked with them, and that was about them ranting about their workplaces," he said, rolling his eyes playfully at the thought.

Kazuha giggled, recalling how he had always been the patient listener in their group. "That's just like you. Listening to what they have to say without saying anything, or even asking about anything in return."

"What can I do, right?" He chuckled. "Why don't you ask them to meet up? I can text them if you want to."

"Oh no, you don't have to do that." Kazuha waved her hands, declining his offer. "I can text them myself, though I'm not sure if I'm able to. It's been a long time since I last contacted them."

"Why not? I'm sure they'd drop any schedule they have just to meet you."

Kazuha hesitated, her gaze drifting downwards as she thought about the reason behind her reluctance.

"You know what? I'll text them later," she finally replied, giving a determined nod. "I'll do it once I get home."

"Great," He said with a supportive smile. "So, what were you doing prior to our meeting?"

"Oh, you know, walking around and all. And you?"

"I met up with Han, just catching up with our lives."

As they continued their conversation, He couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss with Kazuha's visit. He decided to press further onto the matter, sensing that she was avoiding the topics of her activities.

"I'm curious, Kazuha-ya. What are you really doing here? Surely it can't be just any holiday since you're busy, right?"

Kazuha's eyes shifted to the right, a subtle sign that he had learned over the years - she was about to tell a white lie. This only fueled his suspicions, and he couldn't help but wonder what she was keeping from him.

Just then, her phone lit up with a call, and she quickly picked it up, hoping he hadn't seen the contact's name on the screen.

"May I use your balcony, Y/N? I have to pick up this call."

"Sure," He replied, though his eyes never left her figure as she walked out onto the balcony. Unfortunately for her, he had caught a glimpse of Chaewon's name on her phone.

Why would she lie about not being in contact with Chaewon?

Not long after, Kazuha returned from the balcony with a somewhat uneasy expression on her face, but she quickly regained her composure when she noticed his curious gaze.

"Everything okay?" He asked, pretending he hadn't seen Chaewon's name on her phone.

Kazuha forced a smile. "Yeah, just a friend checking up on me. Nothing important."

He couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss, but he decided not to press further. Instead, he changed the topic. "So, about what you're doing during your stay here?"

Kazuha chuckled nervously. "Can we... not talk about that? Please?"

He realized he had been too aggressive earlier about prying into her affairs. He leaned forward, placing a hand on hers. "I'm sorry, Kazuha. I didn't mean to pry into your business like that."

Her smile returned, this time more genuine. "It's alright, Y/N. I appreciate your concern, but it's just something I can't discuss right now. I promise I'll tell you everything once I can." He nodded, relieved that she wasn't upset with him.
