Vetri goes to the NGO to update and discuss the points raised by Abi. Just as he is finishing his meeting, he gets a call from his father.

Athan nee yaartta solli vittiyo avunga sonnangannu sonnen. ... Vera enna! Rendu perum sandai pottom vazhakkam pola! Avlo than pa! Sari. Enakku rendu hearing irukku. Naan sappittu ponumpa. Naan sanikkizhamai varen.
That evening Abi is at home, she is sitting with Sudar. Sudar is reading a book and Abi, while working is also correcting her pronunciations. Viji is training the new helper Lakshmi Akka with their household practices. Amidst this everyday happening, Abi sees Aranganathan walking into the gates and goes out to the entrance.
A: Vaanga Mama! Ulla vanga!
AN goes in and Abi asks him to sit. She takes his blessings.
A: Mama! Iva than Sudarvizhi. Sudar! Ithu Aranganathan thatha!
S: Appadinna! Shankar thatha mathiriyaa?
AN: (pats her cheek) Amanda Chellam! Athe mathiri than! Naanum unakku thatha than. Intha unakku kondu vanthen.
S: Hi! Kadalai mittai and chocolate. Thank you thatha.
AN: Abi! Eppadimma irukka? Kozhanthai romba chuttigaiya irukka! Unnai mathiriye irukka! Ana sirippu than vera!
Abi slightly panics when he talks about the smile and relaxes when he doesnt mention anything more.
A: Vijikka! Tea kondu vareengala? Ethavathu sappidareengala Mama?
AN: Illaimma! Nee intha oorukku vanthirukka! Ungalai pathu pesittu polamnu vanthen. Konja neram pesamudiyuma?
Viji comes with tea and Abi introduces her.
A: Mama! Ithu Vijikka! Enakku ippo ellamum ivunga than. Sudarukku innoru Amma. Akka! Ivaru Aranganathan, ennoda Mama (gives a meaningful look to Viji, who understands.)
Vi: Vanga mama! Nalla irukkeengala? Teakku chakkarai pothumannu paarunga.
AN: irukkattuma! Enga Abikkum Sudarukkum nee pakkabalama irukkarathu romba santhoshamma!
A: Akka! Naan maadila Mama kooda pesittu irukken. Neenga Sudara keezha pathukkonga!
They both go up.
AN: Abi! Nee eppadima irukka? Nee ippadi oru IAS athikaariya vanthirukkathai pakka romba perumaiya irukkumma! Athoda kuzhanthaiyai evvalo azhaga valathirukka!
A: Thanks Mama! Enakkenna Mama? Neenga paakkareengale! Nalla than irukken. Neenga eppadi irukkeenga? Athai, Akka, Mama, Malar ellam eppadi irukkanga?
AN: Naanga ellam nalla irukkom. Sarimma! Naan suthi valaichu pesa virumbalai! Nee Vetriya kathala paathennu enakku theriyum. Athai pathi unta pesittu polamnu than ma vanthen. Unakku nandri sollanumnu than vanthenma!
A: Ethukku mama nandri? Avanai vittu vilagi irukkarathukka?
AN: Illaima! Nee ippadi kasappa pesaratha pakka romba kashtama irukkumma! Naan solla vanthathu vera. En paiyan enakku thiruppi kidaichathukku nee thanma kaaranam. Avanukku naan evlo drogam pannirukkennu enakku puriyavechathukkum oru vazhila nee kaaranam. Innikku avan ippadi oru vakkeela irukkanna athuvum unnalathan.
