That weekend when she returned home, she didn't hesitate for a second to ask her mother all about the trip. She had too many doubts and overthinking everything didn't help. In less than three days she had already imagined all the possible scenarios that could have happened between her parents before they moved.

Catherine was quite surprised by her firstborn's question as she thought she would try to work things out with her. She didn't talk much about Victoria as a child because she was often reminded of how bad it was for her, but this time she saw it as an opportunity to get her relationship with her daughter back on track. She took a breath before she started talking...

November 28, 2008

Victoria had just celebrated her ninth month, which had been very difficult for her parents, especially Catherine. She had many doubts about her relationship with William. Since the baby was born everything had changed for them, they saw each other every weekend but only devoted themselves exclusively to their little girl. They hardly spent any time together, which caused Catherine to start overthinking their relationship.

Ever since the Queen told them that Victoria would only have titles if they married, she had been thrilled at the idea of marriage. But after a sleepless night, a lot of doubts started to creep into her head, which made her rethink a lot of things.

Catherine:

Will I need to talk to you. I'll leave Vic with my parents so we can do it calmly.

She sent him the text message before getting ready for a long day. She looked out the window to see a couple of paparazzi waiting for her, which wasn't so bad since she was going to take her baby to the grocery shop and take a walk in the park.

—Good morning sweetheart— she picked her up from the big King bed in her room where the two of them usually slept. Victoria had her own cot but she liked to sleep next to her mother and she didn't mind.

She rubbed her eyes, trying to keep the tiredness away while her mother made her breakfast, which consisted of milk and scrambled eggs, sometimes she also had a piece of fruit, usually banana.

—Today we are going to go outside— she took a seat in front of her, watching her eat. Victoria didn't understand a word her mother meant but the moment she sat her down in the car her ocean blue eyes lit up.

The paparazzi were crazy to get a picture of her face. Since her birth nine months ago, photos of Victoria had been rare. She was the most famous child in the world so a picture of her was worth millions, causing some paparazzi to be aggressive.

She dressed her in cute jeans and a white blouse, styled her hair, leaving her beautiful hair down and put a pink headband on her hair.

—Mummy's behind you— comforted her as sat her down in the car.

The paparazzi went crazy with the presence of the princess. Catherine started walking as fast as she could so the little girl wouldn't start crying. Over time she had realised that if she let the press take a couple of pictures of her daughter it calmed their anxiety and left them alone for a couple of days at least.

—You've done so well darling— she said to her as she went into Tesco to buy what she needed, it wasn't much as most of the stuff was taken home.

The people who were there immediately noticed her presence, some looked at the baby with sympathy and even encouraged her to make a funny face, while others looked at her with suspicion, but for her peace of mind the latter were in the minority.

The young mother's phone began to ring and when she saw who it was she swallowed dryly, not expecting to see the message so soon. She knew he would be confused so she decided to answer.
