6 : Is she cheating on me?

Meerab entered the kitchen with Mariyam lost in her thoughts about Murtasim. She is confused about her feelings because she never felt bad and was never worried about him but today she cares about his hunger. She knows this is not love but it might be the beginning. She stood near the stove wondering what Murtasim would be doing. She should not ponder about him because they are not meant for each other but still her mind revolves around him. She expected him to get furious with her but here he supported her and was soft which melted her heart

His concern is making her heart melt for him. She pledged not to respect anybody and accept any person in this house but Murtasim is the only person who has been getting into her mind. She can't unsee the concern and respect he is giving to her even though she is disrespecting others. He was also not prepared for their marriage but his respect for their marriage and her sometimes made her wonder if he hated her ever or not. If he did then why he is so delicate with her and why he is not accusing her as every person does?

The scene where Bhaktu saved her from dying played in her mind which scared her and she flinched feeling a gunshot sound near her and looked at her surroundings to see if Murtasim was with her or not. She then realized he was in the hospital and felt her eyes moistening because that was not easy for her. She would never forget the faces of people who tried to touch her and the ones who shot Bhaktu. 

"Bhabhi", she heard someone's voice and a touch on her shoulder scared her. She moved away and looked in the direction to see Mariyam standing beside her. Meerab sighed in relief and wiped her tears

"How is Bhaktu?", Meerab asked

"Bhai didn't pick up the call. I don't know how he is", Mariyam replied and placed the vegetables on the slab. She guessed something was wrong with Meerab but she was hesitant to ask as she and Meerab don't share a nice bond. She knows Meerab will never trust her because of past experience. She is very worried for Meerab as she is looking very lost and pale. She wants to know how Bhaktu got shot but she feels asking Meerab might depress Meerab more

"Bhabhi heat the oil and I will cut the onion and tomato", Mariyam said to which Meerab nodded put the oil into the pan, and placed the bottle of oil on a corner. She was staring at the oil when she remembered how Murtasim assured her he was with her but she felt nobody was her. She can't accept anyone because she knows one day he will also break her trust.

"Bhabhi yeh onion dal dain", Mariyam said and walked towards another side to take other ingredients and also to take the flour out for making chapattis when she heard Meerab moaning in pain

"Ahh", Meerab cried as along with the onion, she put her hand inside the hot oil which burnt her hand. Mariyam ran towards Meerab pulled Meerab towards the sink and put Meerab's hand below cold water. After a few seconds, she took ice out of the fridge and put them in a mug. She then put Meerab's hand inside the jug and asked Meerab to stay in the same position. After some time they started to cook again, Mariyam asked Meerab not to cook but Meerab was adamant. She wanted to cook and hence they both cooked. When they were done, Meerab checked her mobile phone to see messages from Rohail, she could have ignored them if not last message threatened her.

Meerab come to XYZ cafe I will come to Murtasim's house for you

She knew if she ignored this message then Rohail might push her into a big problem. Letting Rohail come here means inviting her to death because she knows Murtasim will not spare her from meeting Rohail. Especially if he comes to this house in his absence. She also doesn't want that as even though he is her friend, she is a girl who stays within her limits and can't let a man enter her house. Even though the guards are here still she doesn't want to do anything to make Murtasim angry. She told Mariyam that she would come within an hour and went to meet Rohail
