Meredith's POV

My alarm clock was showing that it's 4:37am in the morning and I sighed before sitting up on my bed. Izzie was hovering over me with a cup of coffee in her head, startling me.

"The freak's room is bigger than mine. I have more clothes. I should have the bigger room." Izzie says and I glared at her.

"It's Clarissa's room and if you touch her room, I'm kicking you out immediately. Do I make myself fucking clear?" Izzie nods and I grabbed my clothes before heading to my ensuite bathroom and locked the door. Only Addison and Clarissa were allowed to use this bathroom, but Clarissa doesn't use it much because she has her own ensuite bathroom. Two little knocks were heard and I knew that it was Clarissa's way of telling me that it's her. Unlocking the door, Clarissa entered the bathroom and went to brush her teeth.

"So Addison's coming today."

"Yay! I love Addie. When is she finally moving here?" Clarissa asks me while rinsing her mouth and I couldn't help but smile at her.

"Actually today. Are you okay with her moving in here?"

"Yes Mommy I am okay with that." Clarissa tells me with a smile on her face before she gets changed into her scrubs. Virginia told me what my former friend Sadie Harris did to Clarissa because my daughter had a flashback when she was on Allison's case.

"That's good. Clarissa, I know that Sadie hurt you. Virginia told me a couple of days ago because you had a flashback. Why didn't you tell me?"

"Sadie was your best friend and I know how hard it was for you to make friends because of Ellis." Clarissa said when the two of us are done getting ready. The two of us leave the bathroom and grab our stuff off of my bed before heading downstairs.

"None of what Sadie did to you was your fault."

"I know Mommy." Clarissa tells me with a smile on her face when the two of us entered the kitchen and made some breakfast for us.

"Meredith? When is your mom coming back to town anyway? Because maybe we can put her boxes in storage." George asks me when he enters the kitchen.

"Or unpack a few things, make this place a little more homey. Some throw pillows, some lamps, a few paintings. You have all this amazing stuff just packed away. In the back hall, I found this box with like a hundred tapes of your mother performing these amazing medical procedures." Izzie says while making herself some coffee.

"Really? We should watch them." George adds on before Clarissa and I walk out of the kitchen and headed out of the house. George and Izzie followed us to our car while Clarissa sat in the front seat of the car.

"Why does she get to sit in the front seat?" Izzie asked me while Clarissa was eating her breakfast.

"The front seat is Clarissa's seat and if she wants to share with you guys then she will."

"That's fine with me. We're already living in your house. A seat in the car isn't important." George tells us, causing Clarissa to smile.

Clarissa's POV

"Fools on bikes killing themselves. Natural selection is what it is." Dr. Bailey tells us as we follow her down the hallway of the hospital. The Dead Baby bicycle race is happening today as it does every year, meaning more people will be hurt and will be our patients.

"So what's up with the Nazi? Is she off her meds?" Alex asks me, but George hears the conversation.

"You never heard of the race?" George asks Alex as we pass Dr. Webber, who's admiring the white board in front of him.

"Chief! Dead baby bike race started twenty minutes ago." Dr. Bailey tells him as we continue walking to an elevator and get in. We soon exit the elevator and go to the Pit where we get dressed in yellow gowns.

"Every year this bar, The Dead Baby Bar holds this underground bike race. This race is completely illegal and crazy. A bunch of bike messengers racing against traffic trying to beat each other for free shots of tequila."

"Don't you wonder why someone would name a bar something so disgusting?" Izzie asks us.

"Keep your panties on, Nancy Drew." Cristina says while I tie the back of her gown.

"All-out, no holds barred competition. Sounds like fun." Alex says with a smile before tying the back of my gown.

"Yeah, you would think that." Izzie tells Alex and I glared at her.

"Many people enjoy this race. You know if you were not rude, you would have friends Isobel."

"The race, the race doesn't even have any rules. Except eye gouging. No eye gouging." George says while pretending to gouge my eyes.

"Oh great, we're going to be trapped in the Pit bandaging up idiots when we could be up in the OR?" Cristina asks while George ties up the back of Izzie's gown.

"What kind of people engage in a race that has, as its only rule, that you can't rip out the eyeballs of another human being?" George asks me and I shrug.

"I need someone to get up to the OR floor, the Chief needs a right hand." Dr. Bailey asks us and every intern but me raises their hands. George gets chosen and looks pleased while everyone else but me is angry at him. George takes off his gown and runs to the OR.

"Okay people, the rules of trauma. Don't mingle with the ER interns, they don't know their ass from their esophagus. Sew fast, discharge fast, take bodies up to the OR yesterday. And don't let me catch you fighting over patients. Got it? Come on, let's go." Dr. Bailey says as we all entered the Pit and Cristina immediately smiles.

"Oh, it's like candy, but with blood, which is so much better." Cristina says when a patient is wheeled into the Pit, causing her and Izzie to claim him. A woman with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes sat on an examination bed covered in bruises and cuts. Walking over to the woman, I give her a smile while grabbing an empty patient chart.

"My name is Dr. Clarissa Grey and I will be looking after you today. What is your name?"

"Annabelle Thomas and my stepmother did this to me because I don't want my father to end up in a crappy long term care home. He has Alzheimer's." Annabelle explains while I examine her to make sure nothing was broken. Determining that nothing was broken, I grabbed a suture kit and began to patch her up.

"Ooh. I'll take that guy." Mommy says, referring to a man who has spokes in his stomach.

"No, you'll have to beat me to him first." Alex says before they hurriedly push their way to the man and I couldn't help but giggle.

"Is that handsome doctor single?" Annabelle asks me, referring to Alex while I continue suturing her cuts.

"Yes he is. Alex!" Alex walks over to me and I give him a smile.

"Alex, this is Annabelle Thomas and she wants to ask you out on a date. Annabelle, this is Dr. Alex Karev who is one of my best friends."

"Would you like to go out with me?" Annabelle asks Alex.

"Sure. I have patients to see right now but give me your number and I'll call you later." Alex says when Annabelle hands him a business card.

"My cell phone number is the best way to contact me. I'll always answer." Annabelle tells Alex with a smile on her face. Alex puts the card in his pocket and walks away from us.
