"You put the running into run"

It's Friday.

It's finally Friday. Seriously, I've been waiting for this day since last Friday. Could you blame me? That just makes me human. That's what makes me a...true student.

Anyways, school was finally over, for the week, at least, and Vanessa met me at my locker before I could run out of this torture chamber that is school. So we walked through the crowded halls together.

"Hey, I have a question."

"Yeah?" I eyed her suspiciously. Her questions lately haven't been...let's just say they've been linked to one thing. Or rather, one person.

"When last have you talked to Jason?"

As if on cue, my eyes met with Jason's from across the hall, so I waved and smiled a bit. He did the same, but with a huge grin.

I sighed, biting back a small smile. "Last week, actually. He called, and we hung out two days after." I said as we left the school doors.

"Seriously?!" She gasped. "I mean, I told you it'll all work out." She smirked mischievously as she nudged my side with her elbow, making me giggle. Though, I was a bit nervous from the look in her eyes.

"What are you thinking?"

"Oh nothing..." She coughed. "I can't believe Xavier was ok with it. Xavier knows right?"

"Well..." Her eyes widened. "H-he knows we called! But I'm just not sure if-"

Before I could complete my sentence, I was swept off my feet. Literally. Before I knew it, someone was carrying me bridal style. I let out a squeal of shock, my arms finding their way around his neck for support. When I looked up, I saw him. Who else would do that?

"Xavier!" I yelled, thankful for the empty parking lot. "Put me down!"

"Why?"

"Put me down or else...I'll throw all your games in the sea!"

"We aren't close to the sea, Butterfly." He chuckled, but put me down anyway. Once my feet touched the ground, I looked up to glare at him, but he only chuckled as his eyes shone.

"I know that." I rolled my eyes. "Don't try that again."

"No promises."

"Guys." Vanessa spoke up with an amused smirk.

"Hey V." Xavier turned to her, hugging her from the side.

"Hey." She looked to me. "Bye."

"Bye?"

"I have a client today." She lied, winking at me before walking away.

I was her only client.

I looked back at Xavier, to see him already smiling at me.

"Hi." He said, stepping closer and lacing our fingers together. I giggled.

"Hey."

He took another step closer, inching his face dangerously closer to mine as he muttered, "How are you going home today?"

"I'm going with Andrew. I don't think he's busy today."

"Can you come home with me?" He pouted, his lips brushing mine. He did that on purpose.

"I can't just leave without telling him." I bit back a laugh.

"Already taken care of." He grinned. "He said as long as you're back before tomorrow morning, we're free to do whatever the heck we want."
