*This is in the dark world. Ralsei did some research on ancient magic, and learned about using the power of moon magic. In order to learn this spell, one must hold their hands up in the air, and soak in the magic of the moon, bring their hands down to their chest, in a formation that would look as if they are going to launch a ball out of their hands from their chest, and do a sort of push.
Ralsei went to a cliff to try this. He set his book down, stood in the middle of the cliff, and tried it...but nothing happened. He tried again. Nothing. He kept trying, and was starting to get a bit frustrated. The young Prince sat down, and read the book a little more, and started looking for hints. Kris came up.
"Hey Ralsei. You alright? You seem rather annoyed." Kris said, as they sat down next to Ralsei.
"Yeah, I'm alright. I'm trying to learn this ancient spell, that holds the power of the moon." Ralsei replied, flipping through the pages.
"Ah."
Ralsei flipped through a few more pages, and remembered a question he wanted to ask Kris.
"Hey, Kris? Do I look...weird...without my glasses?" Ralsei asked.
"You look cute. With or without." Kris answered. "Love your pink eyes, your soft nose, your face in general."
Ralsei's face went bright pink from that.
"Lemme see that book for a sec, you know I'm very observant." Kris said. This is true. They are rather observant. It's often seen as creepy that Kris notices small details, but the Dark World Research Team sees it as helpful that Kris is observant.
Ralsei handed over the book.
Kris took a good look at the pages, and they noticed something.
"Found something. User may require assistance, and they must be calm and fully focused on the moon." Kris said.
"Thanks!" Ralsei said as Kris handed the book back. "I don't know why the hashira find your eyes creepy and soulless. They look more like rubies."
Kris blushed from the comment.
Ralsei gave the spell another try. This time, he fully focused on the moon, and Kris was there to help. His hands began to sparkle with moon magic. Kris noticed that they were both surrounded by the guards of Ralsei's ex-father.
One of the guards jumped out to snatch Kris, and they immediately unsheathed their sword to hold the guard off.
Ralsei wrapped his scarf around Kris, and his own wrist. And mentally prepared, as more guards jumped out.
Ralsei then used the spell. It was very powerful, pushing each guard back, and knocking them out.
"Woah...." Kris said. "...that was so cool...can I kill them?"
"No, Kris. You are not going to kill them. They were likely just following orders." Ralsei replied. "And thank you."
"Okay. I'll just tie them up then." Kris said as they pulled out some rope. Kris then proceeded to tie up the guards, and allowed them to wake up. Ralsei seemed rather tired.
"You alright, Peachboy?" Kris asked as they put a hand on Ralsei's shoulder.
"I'm just tired, that's all." Ralsei answered as he sat back down. Kris sat down next to him.
Ralsei just couldn't resist nodding off. He leaned up against Kris, laid his head down on Kris's shoulder, and fell asleep. Kris smiled, and shifted Ralsei's position, so that he was lying down. Kris then removed their cloak, and put it on him like a blanket. Kris still had a warm smile on their face.
A guard eventually woke up, and asked what was going on.
"I can tell he only got three hours of sleep last night." Kris said. "So he nodded off, and I just wanted him to be comfortable. And yes, we're in a relationship. I tied you up because he wanted me to spare your lives. We're not the ones who are wrong, it's the old man who still considers himself Ralsei's 'father' even after ditching his pregnant wife fourteen years ago, and just now trying to enter Ralsei's life."
The guards were surprised.
"Also, I can tell you're rather inexperienced. Because you're really sitting there, listening to me, instead of finding ways to untie yourselves? Also, if you even tried, you'd know I intentionally did a bad job just so you could easily undo it." Kris said. "I could provide better training, though. Your weapons are looking a little rusty. You tryna give people tetanus?"
Kris laughed a little at the joke they made, as the guards untied themselves.
"You know, the Rune kingdom is still in development, and I proposed the idea of a royal guard....a few months ago. But we would have some good benefits." Kris said.
Kris went on to explain to the guards exactly what they could give. Better compensation, less risk of illness and death, a safe place. The guards agreed to serve the Rune kingdom instead. Ralsei was sleeping for a little while, so they checked if he was okay. He was alright, just very tired. He had never used such a powerful spell before. Kris stayed by his side. When he eventually woke up, he sat up and stretched. He then looked for his glasses, which are then placed onto his face. It took a moment for his tired self to process what just happened. When he realized what he had done, he squeaked and apologized, very flustered.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't- I should've-"
"Hey, don't sweat it, peachboy." Kris said, placing a hand on Ralsei's shoulder. "It was cute. I even made sure you were comfortable."
Ralsei squeaked again as he got even more flustered. His ears were so pink he couldn't cover his face with them. He then tried his scarf, but Kris just pulled it down and said "Sorry. Yore just too cute when you're all flustered like that."
To be continued...
