ares had met him on the beach.
their fight was surprisingly easy; it seemed that without cherry, everything ran smoothly.
percy had raised the sea, and ares toppled over under the pressure of the harsh waves.
ares collected his breath, and his dignity, from off the floor.
annabeth and grover rushed over to percy's side.
"are you okay?" annabeth questioned the blonde.
"you know who isn't okay?" grover snapped, suddenly.
it was more then clear that he was upset.
and why wouldn't he be?
cherry was dead.
just like that, she was gone.
percy didn't believe cherry was a god. she was just a girl. the worst girl he'd ever met.
maybe cherry would've never left percy, but it'd been easy enough for him to let her die.
percy really didn't get it.
cherry was easily the cruelest being he'd ever met.
she hadn't shown his mother mercy. why would he show her any?
