she was getting pretty bored of listening to coach hedge sing old macdonald, but with weapons instead of animals. he'd allowed them to go on a picnic in the park.
cherry didn't mind thirdwheeling, but it was still awkward. she sat a couple feet away, painting her nails a deep shade of red.
piper scooted over to her a little, while jason ate.
"hi." cherry greeted, not taking her hands off her nails.
"really into that, huh?" piper questioned.
"needs to be perfect."

"that's really sweet. you, too."
piper watched her carefully.
she'd heard a lot of stories about cherry garcia. annabeth would recount experiences they'd had, and piper thought she'd gotten a good feel of her character.
