a woman sat on the edge of her bed, right as she woke up.
cherry stared at her features.
they looked eerily similar.
"hello, my girl." the woman greeted, her arms wrapping around her.
"mom." cherry seemed paralyzed. "why am i home? where's percy? how are you alive?"
her eyes glossed over the minute she'd seen her mother.
the woman wiped the tears carefully from her daughters face, a smile growing on her features.
"you needed me. and you wanted to go home. i had to get you away from that stupid demigod. percy." her mom spoke, her voice strangely comforting.
"percy isn't stupid. he's the love of my life." cherry shook her head, as if not processing any words.
"i'm sorry you feel that way. you are the sweetest person i've ever seen, and you don't deserve that. as for how i'm alive.. it's nothing you need to worry about, my girl. i'm here now. i'm sorry i was gone."
