nico was just as quiet.
everybody else was hard at work on gathering the materials. finally, nico turned to her.
"your friends were looking for me?" nico asked, breaking the silence.
"mhm." cherry answered with a bored tone.
"and you didn't tell them that you found me?"
"why would i? you didn't wanna be found."
"do you remember when i.."
"told me that i'm the worst goddess in the world, and that i suck, and that percy doesn't love me, and i know nothing about love?"
"uh.. yeah."

nico was quiet. he mumbled an i don't know, and returned to silence.
he didn't have to say anything. cherry knew how he felt. she knew all about anger, because the words he'd spoken to her ruined her life. she knew about strong terrifying feelings, about unintentional hatred that takes the place of another emotion.
