percy sat up.
"are you good?" she asked.
"yeah, yeah i'm fine." percy stretched and sat up.
cherry did the same, and extended her blanket to percy.
eventually, his head rested in her lap, and stared at the wall of his cabin.
"do you enjoy this?" cherry asked, her voice almost a whisper.
"yeah, i like talking to you." percy nodded.
"not that, all of this. being a hero. going on all these quests where you almost get killed."
"i mean, it's what i know how to do. i understand that you don't like it, but.. i like going on quests. i like helping people."
cherry didn't say anything.
percy knew that half the reason she was there, was because he was.
of course cherry liked helping people, but she'd helped people enough in those last couple of years.
it wasn't that she hated going on quests.
she hated the idea of losing percy.
"demigods love their whole lives in peace in new rome. they go to college, and get married, and raise families. we can't do that at camp half-blood." percy spoke into the silence.
