"you'd think he'd run out of rocks." percy muttered.
"swim for it!" grover yelled.
he and clarisse plunged into the surf.
grover was leading cherry through the water.
annabeth hung onto clarisse's neck and tried to paddle with one hand.
the wet fleece was weighing her down., but the monster's attention wasn't on the fleece.
"you, young cyclops!" polyphemus roared. "traitor to your kind!"
tyson froze.
"don't listen to him." cherry glanced over at the boy.
percy pulled tyson's arm, but it did nothing.
"i am not a traitor." tyson told him, and dodged the boulder.
"you serve mortals!" polyphemus charged into the surf. "thieving humans!"
"not a traitor! and you are not my kind."
"death or victory!"
polyphemus fell face first into the water, which made cherry laugh.
"percy!" clarisse yelled. "come on!"
