Uncertainty
- The feeling of not quite knowing what the future holds.
___
Nia Wells slowly stirred from her sleep, feeling the warmth of Theodore's embrace around her.
Gently disentangling herself, she glanced at Theodore, his peaceful slumber a comforting sight. With a soft smile, she quietly slipped out of bed and made her way to the bathroom, the cool tiles soothing beneath her feet.
After attending her morning routine, she padded softly to the kitchen, where she spent nearly an hour preparing breakfast for both of them, the comforting aroma of food filling the air.
"Something smells delicious,"
Theodore's voice slightly startled her, and she couldn't help but smile as she felt his arms wrap around her waist, his warmth comforting against her.
His soft kisses against her neck sent a shiver down her spine before he asked, "What are you up to tonight?"
"I'll be heading to my dad's place. What about you?" Nia replies, looking into his eyes, and wrapped her arms around his neck.
The twinkling lights of the nearby Christmas tree reflecting in his eyes.
"My sister texted me, saying that our mom is having New Years Eve dinner, and a slight party for me, which I'm supposed to know nothing about but she can't hide it from me well anyway." Nia chuckles, and nods for him to continue. "Would you, and of course your father like to attend?"
Nia wouldn't have hesitated, but she then remembered how she hasn't told her father that her and Theodore were official, so she plans on telling him tonight. "I would have to ask my father first,"
Theodore's smile widened, and let go of Nia. "Okay, just let me know then." he says, cupping her face gently.
"I love you, Nia," he says, leaning in to kiss her softly on the lips.
Her heart swells at his words, feeling the warmth of his affection.
