"Pain." Jane said suddenly, drawing everyone's attention to who she was looking at.

(She uses her power to bring Edward down in pain, but Bella manages to use her power to shield Edward, he gets up and walks towards Bella)

"It's working." He told her. Pride in his eyes as he glimpsed his wife's ability.

(Bella smiles as Jane realizes her powers are useless against her shield, then Alec steps forward and tries to use his deadly vapor but Aro stops him)

"Aro, you see there's no law broken here." Carlisle told his old friend calmly. Still studying to negotiate and hopefully have the charges dropped against his family.

"Agreed. But does it then follow that there is no danger? For the first time in our history humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapon that could destroy us. Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. And we know nothing ofwhat this child will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow." Aro proposed to his witnesses.

Josie could see where Aro was trying to lead their thinking. He wanted them to think of every possible scenario, wanted to make them afraid of the power that Renesmee could hold.

It was a smart move, but it wouldn't work.

Because Josie could smell pack walking closer. She could sense her sister-in-law walking with her mate, and two other unknown scents. One of the scents had a heart beat similar to Josie's niece and that made the hybrid smirk.

She knew Alice would pull through, just like she always has.

(Just then two figures emerge from the nearby woods)

"HA!" Aro said excitedly. Seeing the other person that he wanted to recruit coming onto the battlefield.

(Edward realizes it's Alice and Jasper)

"Alice." Edward whispered. The other Cullen's grew relieved and excited. They had started to doubt that the two had abandoned them, but to see them coming to help restore every bad thought that they've had over the time span that the duo were gone.

"Alice!" Aro practically cheered.

(As Alice and Jasper walk up to Aro and his army, two of Aro's guards stop them. Josie's eyes narrowed. She didn't like her pack mates being in so close proximity to their enemies. Not trusting that Aro wouldn't just try and kidnap Alice from where he stood next to her.)

"My dear, dear Alice, we're so glad to see you here, after all." Aro said happily.

"I have evidence the child won't be a risk to our kind." Alice said strongly. This could make or break the case against her family.

(Aro looks at her with suspicion)

"Let me show you." Alice said softly.

(Alice extends her hand, Aro motions for his guards to let Alice go)

"Brother?" Caius questioned. He didn't know if this was the best decision.

Meanwhile everyone on the Cullen side felt a sense of hope.

Edward suddenly caught Josie's attention as he tilted his head.

Josie silently moved towards him, making sure she didn't catch anyone's attention since everyone was looking towards Aro, awaiting his decision.

Edward leant down.

"Alice is about to show Aro a vision, do you think you can see it by linking up with my mind using your compulsion?" Edward asked quietly.
