I had reached the highest point of happiness in my life and I wished to never come down. Not a single word from Mark in over a month. I was estatic. After Jace and I's trip, 5 weeks ago, everything seemed back to normal. That is until I tried to get up one Friday morning.

I threw my legs over the side of the bed and almost threw up as I sat up. I laid back down instantly.

"What's wrong?" Jace asked. With summer almost over Jace was done with school. He managed to get enough credits to graduate early. When school started in September it would be for Jack this time, his first day of preschool.

"I feel sick," I muttered. The nausea went as quickly as it had come. I sat back up.

"I'm hungry," I said. Jace laughed a little and sat up too.

"What would you like?" He asked.

"Breakfast," I shocked myself as I said it. I HATED breakfast food. Just the thought of it made me sick. While I was pregnant with Jack that's all I ate all the time. Now I couldn't even cook it. My mind froze. While I was pregnant with Jack...

"No," I screamed. Jace fell off the bed shocked.

"What what's wrong?" He asked.

"Maybe nothing," I whispered. I quickly got up and hurried to the closet.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"I forgot I have a doctor's appointment," I lied.

"Oh, for what?" Damn his curiousity.

"Something," I muttered.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Yes,"

"Then why are you--"

"If you must know Jace it's a lady doctor trip," He shuts up and I bit my lip. I don't like lying to him.

"Well have fun," he muttered. I ran out of the room. Thankfully Jack wasn't up. I got into my car and hurried down to the hospital. It's not true. I'm wrong. I'm crazy. Dread filled my body.

I pulled into the hospital and hurried into the Jane's office. She and I became great friends when I was pregnant with Jack. She supported me a lot. I slammed the door behind me. She looked up.

"Izzy! It's nice to see you!" She said. Her face dropped at my expression. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"I need your help," I whispered.

"What's wrong?" She asked again.

"I think I'm pregnant," I said it so quietly it took her a while to understand. She stood up and pulled me with her into a back room. It's her own private ultrasound room. She deals with rapes and unexpected pregnacies at the hospital. I didn't even know they had someone like that until Jack. She set me on the table.

"How long ago?" She asked. She meant Mark.

"A month and a half," I muttered. She nodded and made me lay back. I closed my eyes tight, willing myself away from the situation. I feel the nasty jelly stuff on my stomach. She didn't say a word. This was a grave situation.

"Hmmm,"  She mused.

"What?" I didn't want to look. I kept my eyes squeezed tight.

"Well what I'm seeing isn't typical of mouth old fetus." She said. Ick. I hate that word. I have no idea why, but I do.

"So I'm not?" I asked, gleefully.

"Oh no honey you are," She says. She looks at me confused. "There's just no way it could be his." I stared at her confused. My phone vibrated in my bag. She scoops it up and hands it to me. I open it.

"Iz?" Jace asks.

"Yes Jace?" I answer. Jane's face lighted up. In all the worry of it being Mark's we didn't think about the other possiblity, Jace. I screamed and dropped the phone. A happy scream.

"Izzy!" I hear Jace shout. Jane picked up the phone.

"Hello Jace," She said.

"Jane?" He ask confused.

"Would you like to talk to your wife?" She asked, kindly. I laughed.

"Yes please. Wait why is she with you? She said she was going well not you. Wait, why did she scream? What's wrong?" He asks so many questions.

"Jace," I chimed, taking the phone.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing is wrong. Everything is perfect. Well I think. I think it's good news. Maybe not. Um,"

"Izzy, shut up and tell me." He ordered.

"I'm pregnant," I said. I heard the phone drop. "It's yours!" I shouted, just in case you made the assumption like Jane and I did. I hear him pick up the phone.

"Are you serious?" He asked. He sounded so giddy.

"Yes," I laughed. Tears sprang to my eyes and for once they were happy tears.
