I chuck some of my stuff into Luis's car and hop inside. "Ready?" I ask.

"Yep." he nods.

"Let's go." I slide my seatbelt on.

He started driving to the baseball field and he looked really cute. I couldn't stop staring at him.

"You've got a staring problem." he chuckles.

"What?" I snap out of my gaze. "I wasn't staring at you."

"I was kidding." he chuckles lightly. "It's fine."

I look away from him and into the night. "You excited?" I ask.

"For a sunrise?" he sighs.

"Come on, Luis. It's pretty."

"Oh, yeah!" he sarcastically smiles. "I'm so excited for a sunrise!"

I scoff but see a real smile creep onto his lips. "I'm kidding," he reassures. "I'm pretty excited."

"Good." I chuckle. "Because there's no backing out now."

He shrugs. "I can easily turn this car right back around."

"Jerk." I punch his arm lightly.

He laughs and shakes his head. "You're cute."

My cheeks burnt. "What?"

He looks at me quickly then back at the road. "I meant that in like . . . a friend way, not like that."

"Oh, yeah." I chuckle awkwardly. "Of course."

We sat there in awkward silence but I brightened up once I saw the field come into view. "There it is!" I smile.

He pulled up to the fence and I excitedly hopped out. I grab my stuff and Luis sighs. "This is old."

I nod. "Yeah, some kids used to play baseball here but they all moved away so now it's always empty. I come here a lot."

"Oh, alright."

"Come on." I grab his hand.

I lead him to the old treehouse and climb inside. I plop my stuff down and Luis slowly creeps in behind me.

"Wow," he mumbles. "It's nice."

"Right?" I nod.

I plop down on the old, red couch and sigh with satisfaction. Luis sits next to me and examines everything. "Is this stuff from the kids who used to play here?"

"I think so." I shrug. "It's not mine."

He hums while nodding slightly. "Cool."

I shrug. "I guess. It's just a bunch of baseball stuff."

"Baseball is cool."

"I never said it wasn't." I chuckle.

"You technically did."

"Oh, shut up, Mendoza." I roll my eyes playfully.

He laughs and runs a hand through his hair.

Five o'clock finally rolled around which meant sunrise time. I shake Luis awake and he groans. "What?"

"It's time to watch the sunrise." I smile.

"No." he stuffs his face into his pillow.

"Come on," I whine. "You promised."
