I feel someone's hand gently swoop into mine. "Hello, gorgeous." Luis smiles down at me.

I look up at him and smile back. "Hi."

"How are you?" he asks.

"I'm good." I giggle lightly. "How are you?"

"The best I've ever been."

"That's good." I nod.

"Mhm." he hums while nodding. "Izzy is very happy by the way."

I laugh. "Really?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"She's a matchmaker, I'm telling you." I chuckle softly.

"Totally." Luis nods.

"Well, I'll be on the bench, dying on the inside." I sigh.

"You'll be able to play soon," he reassures. "I'm sure of it."

"Whatever." I shrug. "See you out there, you lucky duck."

He smirks. "Was that supposed to be a pun?"

"No?" I realize what I said. "Oh, it wasn't but I guess it could be."

He laughs. "You're cute."

He places a kiss on my cheek before walking into the locker room. My heart melts and I bite my lower lip to stop my squeals of happiness from escaping my mouth. I walk over to the bench and see Charlie already sitting there.

"Hey, Charlie." I plop next to him.

"Hey." he keeps his focus on his hockey stick.

"Whatcha doin'?" I ask.

"Putting new grippy tape on my stick," he explains. "You?"

I sigh. "The usual. Dying slowly inside because I can't play."

He chuckles lightly. "You're still annoyed about that, huh?"

"Of course." I nod. "I can't do the one thing I love."

"Yeah, I understand."

"How so?"

"Adam hurt his hand a while back similar to yours, but it was only sprained. I had to sit on the bench so he could play because he needed to. Some college scouts were there to watch him play." Charlie explains.

"Oh, that was nice of you." I nod.

"Thanks." he shrugs. "Oh, I heard about you and Luis."

"You did?" I start to get nervous for some reason.

"Yeah, everyone knows." he nods.

"Oh, duh." I nod slowly.

"He really likes you. And no, I'm not just saying that because you guys are dating. I'm serious."

"He does?" I question.

"Duh." he chuckles. "Do you see the way he looks at you?"

"Well, yeah, but what if it's all just an act?"

"Why would you say that?" he faces his body toward me.

"Because we had been enemies for years and right as I joined the team, he likes me. Kinda suspicious, don't you think?"

Charlie looks at me like I'm dumb. "You're kidding, right?"

I shake my head slowly. "No?"

He scoffs. "Lia! You have got to be kidding me!"

"I'm not!"

"It's not an act!" he chuckles. "I promise it's all real! No one could act like that."

"Well, yes, someone could." I defend.

"Lia." Charlie groans. "Listen to me. I promise he does like you. I'm not joking."

"I know, but what if he's just gonna lead me on and break my heart later?"

Charlie shakes his head. "That won't happen."

"Okay, well, if it does, I'm blaming it on you." I joke.

He shrugs. "Okay, but you know I'm right."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." I laugh while waving a hand at him.

He chuckles and goes back to his hockey stick. A pair of arms wraps around my neck lightly and I instantly smile.

"I'm back." Luis kisses my head.

"Took you long enough." I mock.

He chuckles and sits down next to me. One of his arms wraps tightly around my waist as if he never wants to let me go.

"Are you still dying inside?" he asks.

"Yes." I groan while flopping my head on his shoulder. "I'm dead."

He pats my head. "You're such a drama queen."

I lift my head up and jokingly look at him angrily. His eyes widen. "That was a joke, I promise."

I keep staring at him. "Lia, it was a joke, I swear," he whines.

A small smile paints my lips. "I know. I was just messing with you."

He sighs while shaking his head lightly. "I wanna be mad at you, but you're too cute to stay mad at."

I giggle and kiss him. "You should probably go practice."

He groans. "No, I wanna stay here."

"But you gotta practice." I push him away lightly.

"It's fine." he pulls me to him again.

"Luis." my voice was stern. "Go practice."

He shakes his head. "Nope, I'm staying with you."

"I'm not going anywhere." I chuckle.

He shrugs. "I'm still not moving."

I then think of the perfect way to get him to practice. "Go practice or I'm not sleeping over tonight."

"Damn it . . ." he mumbles. "Fine."

I pull my lips closer to his ear and lower my voice. "We can also "watch a movie" if you want."

His eyes fill with excitement and he nods. "Yes, please."

"Then go practice, you hobo." I smack his arm lightly.

He gasps. "I'm not a hobo."

"No shit, Sherlock. Now go." I wave him away.

"Okay, okay, okay," he sighs. "I'm going."

He places a quick kiss on my lips before hopping onto the ice.
