The narrow hallways of Crestwood University echoed with the friends tangled emotions. Hannah, not so keen on digging into Jessica's murder told Emma, "Look, Jessica's death is sad, but it's probably just a bad coincidence. Joshua doesn't need to get stuck in the past, especially with my best friend Kayla."

Emma, always one to question, shot back, "Hannah, are you sure you're seeing the whole picture here? Sometimes things aren't as simple as they seem and I wonder if you're really as smart as you say." Their conversation got a bit heated until Tyler, with his usual calm demeanor, stepped in and suggested they hit the library to find some facts and not argue since they're friends after all and it's just a stressful time.

Tyler and Emma teamed up at the library, flipping through old newspapers and police notes. Emma whispered, "Tyler, doesn't it feel weird? Like, the way these two murders match up so much?" Tyler nodded, "Yeah, it's giving me the chills it feels like last year all over again I really miss Kayla and wish she was here"

Meanwhile, Michael excused himself, muttering about a test to study for. As he left, he caught sight of Hannah working hard to convince Joshua to stay away from the investigation. "Joshua babe, she's overthinking this Why dig  into the past and try to make things sad again when we're finally happy"

But Joshua, determined to find answers, replied, "Hannah, I need to know. It's not just about the past; it's about keeping everyone safe." Hannah shook her head and agreed, realizing this wasn't a battle she could win.

Back at the library, Tyler and Emma discovered more unsettling details connecting Kayla and Jessica's deaths. Emma couldn't help but say, "This is like something out of a mystery novel. We're in too deep now."

The friends' emotions were like a tangled web, each pulling in a different direction. As Tyler and Emma unearthed dark secrets, Joshua and Hannah grappled with their own feelings. The mysteries surrounding Crestwood University deepened as Two people have died on the same day a year apart

Michael sat at his desk studying and watching some news on the TV as he saw Jessica's death on the news "a Freshman girl by the name of Jessica Owlter passed away early today at Crestwood University police suspect murder was at play but we dont have any further comments at this time"

Michael thought to himself how sad it was and hoped her killer and his old friend Kayla's would both be caught and trialed.

Meanwhile at the library
Tyler was now looking through the college website and news anchor that the college program had earlier broadcast about Jessica's death where he said she was stabbed 11 times and had her face covered with a bag.
While a year ago on the same day Kayla died with a bag over her head and 13 stab wounds. The cases were nearly identical and he knew for a fact it was the same killer and Emma agreed.

Emma talked to Tyler
"This is definitely the same killer anyone who says it is a coincidence or isn't connected is in denial or just doesn't care, and I wanna find out what happened to her, she might've not been my best friend for years like Hannah was with her but I cared about her alot and I want to give her peace, I don't know why Hannah doesn't..."

Tyler patted Emma on the back and reassured her that Hannah does care and that she just is hiding her emotions probably and doesn't want to feel awkward in her relationship with Joshua probably.

Emma nodded and decided to finish researching the murders and Tyler did the same.

Meanwhile Joshua was now at home as a few hours have passed and the sun was sitting he looked at his calendar as the day was almost gone and it would no longer be the anniversary of when Kayla died.
He regretted not being with her the night she died.

He thought to himself
"If I would have just been there to protect her when she got killed she could've still been alive, it could've been me instead it should've been. He punched his desk and looked at his phone to texts from his now girlfriend Hannah that read "babe please don't be stuck up sad in the past I just wanna focus on the future and us we have so much to look forward to together kiss kiss"

He sighed and sent her a heart emoji as a response not knowing what else to really say.
He liked Hannah alot and he found comfort in her when Kayla died and things happened very fast between them, he didn't regret getting with her, but he thought about almost fighting Michael earlier today and he felt bad and realized he did move on too fast from Kayla to hide his feelings and because he didn't wanna be alone or face the hard truth, but he made his choices and he would stick with them.

Crestwood University for another night on the same year would be lighting candles in mourning for another young girl. With a murderer uncaught and a campus of people at unease and worry.

Michael, Tyler, Hannah, Emma and Joshua would have to face the fact that Kayla death may have not been random. And it could be anyone on that day any year. Or even any day.
