Tagu-Taguan (Rewind)

14th February

My class starts at 10am
Though I knew he's busy, I was somehow hoping that he would have a minute or five to spare to pick me up, or maybe even a quick "hi" or "hello" sa class.
Minsan lang akong magka-boyfriend, hindi ko pa maramdaman sa Valentines' Day.

"Hay!", I sighed while putting my things inside my bag.

"Ang lalim ha"

I laughed, a bit embarrassed.
Nadadalas ang pagbuntong hininga, Carla.

"Sorry, Sis. May naalala lang"

"Bumati na ba si Pareng Billy"

"Nag-good morning na", I said.
Hindi naman ako masyadong bitter.
After last night, nawala ata sa isip nya na Valentines ngayon.

"Happy Valentine's? Ganun?"

"Bumati na kagabi", I said, while forcing a smile.

"Parang gusto kong kutusan yung jowa mo"

I laughed, shaking my head.
Nabibigla pa rin ako minsan dito kay Aya.
I always have her pegged as that tahimik and soft spoken Isabella... but recently, she's beginning to become more outspoken.
I guess, Kiko has something to do with that.
And I love the guy for bringing out that side of hers.

Then while gathering all my books, I looked inside my bag, then walked to my room, then to the bathroom then to the living room.

"Have you lost something?"

"Have you seen any of my hair ties? Parang nauubos yung panali ko ng buhok na hindi ko namamalayan"

Then I saw Aya looked at me, then she laughed.
Baliw na rin tong kaibigan ko.

"What?"

"I think I overheard Billy saying something like "ang tigas ng ulo nung babaeng yun. Sinabi nang wag magtali ng buhok", while picking up all the hair ties na nakakalat dito sa labas. I didn't pay attention at first. I even gave him the hair ties na napulot ko sa sofa. What's his deal with you tying your hair?"

"Huh?"

Then I just hit the side of my head when I remembered all those times he was pulling my hair ties. That's been his habit ever since we were young. He would always pull my hair tie on the way out or whenever I meet him somewhere. Even when he has a girlfriend, his girls would always look at us funny everytime he would put his arm on my shoulder na para kaming tropa, then a minute or two, wala na akong tali sa buhok.

And when I would call him out on it, he would just smirked, and combed my hair with his hand. Then when he looked at me, I would see his face suddenly changed, and the moment I asked why, sisimangutan nya lang ako sabay guguluhin yung buhok ko.

Hanggang ngayon ba naman.... para pa ring bata.

"Makakatikim talaga yang si Billy pag nagkita kami"

Then I was surprised when there's a car which stopped in front of our house.
"Sis, that's Kiko. Sumabay ka na. Hatid ka na namin"

I smiled, then said. "Sige lang, Sis. You go ahead. Maaga pa naman. I still have something to settle"

"Carla Patricia Martinez, halika na. Wag ka nang mag-inarte. Kami muna ni Kiko ang date mo"

"Aray! Kunyari hindi masakit", I said, while smiling, because I knew Aya is just trying to cheer me up because she doesn't want me to feel alone today. I pulled her for a quick hug, then said, "Mahal kita, Aya! At kahit nasaang lupalop man ako ng mundo, the moment you call me and tell me that you're getting married, I will drop everything I'm doing to witness you walk down the aisle"
