Alora heard every rotten word Gideon said to provoke the Mandalorians. With Praetorian guards on the loose, Alora needed time to think, time to regroup. She hadn't meant to fall, but she caught herself just beneath the cliff, pressing herself to the rocks and climbing to a safer position.

Gideon is smart—smarter than most. Never assume someone is dead without a body to prove it. She managed to escape the guards when he sent them, but that may not be forever.

She needs to think like a general. She needs to think as if trillions of people are relying on her decisions, as if the galaxy is watching. She needs to think like a peace-bringer. Like a Jedi.

Too bad the only thought in her mind is Din. The stormtroopers took him somewhere. They hurt him and took him away. They separated him from Grogu, from her. They took him away from her.

They will pay. Moff Gideon will pay. This time, she won't leave his fate up to the New Republic. He will have her to deal with.

The pure rage pours out of her as she walks through the facility, her lightsabers ignited at her side. Anyone who comes upon her is dead before they can reach for their comms, either by her blade or her fury.

She avoids any heavily trafficked areas, but she knows how this facility is organized. She memorized Gideon's ship after escaping. She spent hours planning the escape routes she should have been smart enough to find. All of that effort pays off as she finds a mostly deserted dining hall and looks down at her feet.

Just below her would be the last corridor before Gideon's personal command center. With her lightsabers ready, she plunges them into the floor with a shout and spins until the circle falls through the ground.

Alora lands safely in the hallway and looks around. It is empty except for the machines lining the walls. Standing to her full height, Alora approaches the closest one. They all look like bacta tanks, though she doubts they are used for healing purposes. As she gets closer, she sees a face in the tank, eyes closed.

Alora recognizes Gideon's face. Not just in one tank, but all of them.

She will find the first and true Gideon soon enough. The number of places he has left to hide is shrinking, but her rage builds up behind her eyes. With a scream, Alora tears through the tank with her yellow saber, slicing the head off the clone before her. She does the same with every tank in the room, slaughtering the clones not yet born.

She does not need to think as the doors open for her, revealing Gideon's control center with him standing right in the middle as if preparing to run. The two troopers on either side of the door lunge, but Alora cuts them down in seconds.

Panting though not out of breath, Alora meets Gideon's gaze from beneath the robe's hood as she straightens. She stares him down as she takes a step forward. Then another. And another.
