24. R I D E

It was the day of haldi in the mansion, the thought of someone peeking inside the kitchen that day still hasn't gone from ruhani's mind but as today was her haldi she decided not to ruin her or anyone's mood.

The hall was decorated with yellow accessories, she was sitting on a lower sitting stool while Amal was sitting next to her, only the family members were present in the hall no other relatives or friends.

"Aaj aayega maja"
(Today we'll have fun)

Vivek said while smirking at Amal.

"Now common everyone we'll begin first the elders then the younger ones"

Varani moved towards ruhani she took the mango leaves dipping them lightly into the haldi paste she applied on her hand from arm to wrist also on her cheeks and feet, she did the same with Amal.

Next Gayatri and urmila came forward to do the same followed by ujwal and dhawal(husband of urmila) applied the haldi on both of them.

Vivek walked towards ruhani.

"Bhabhi thodi Masti toh banti hai"
(Little fun is approved right)

Before she could response he took handful amount of the paste and applied it on her face while she just closed her eyes.

Everyone laughed.

"Ab aayega bharpoor nikhar"
(Now there will be a lot of glow)

Varani said as everyone nodded in response.

"Apni bhabhi ke sath koi aisa karta hai"
(Does anyone do this to their sister-in-law?)

Gayatri said and slapped on his head a little while smiling

"Bhabhi hai toh kya badi behan jaisi hai humare liye"
(So what she is just like my elder sister)

He said and touched her feet.

"Wada karte hai aapse aap par kabhi koi anch nhi aane denge"
(I promise that I will never let anyone hurt you)

He said while she smiled warmly and applied the haldi on his face too.

He made a done face that instantly caused everyone to burst in laugh.

He stood up and moved to Amal.

Kneeling down he took a handful of haldi in both of his hands and applied on his face, hands legs.

"You cannot do anything today, just sit quietly"

Vivek said and applied more haldi on his face.

Then after ayushi went towards them and did the same.

"Mai toh jyada laga bhi nhi sakti chote chote haath hai mere toh"
(I can't even apply more my hands are small)

Shivani said looking at the paste of haldi.

"Aapko jitna Mann ho aap utna laga lo"
(Apply as much as you wish)

Ruhani said smiling lightly at her, she nodded and applied on her cheeks.

And she did same with Amal.

"Now go take shower"

After a while Amal and ruhani came wearing their normal clothes.

"Chalo ab kal mehndi aur Sangeet hai"
(Okay now tomorrow is mehndi and Sangeet)

"Mummy I will also apply mehndi on my hands"

Shivani said looking at her mom then at her hands.

"Sure gudiya"

Ruhani was sitting on the couch looking down, her face showed no expression.
