T'was a very busy morning on the Wales & Borders Railway, Mr Griffiths, the railway director, had got some new rolling stock, but they were a bit heavier than the original stock on the railway, due to having a new designed chassis. None of his locomotives were strong enough to pull them, he needed some new engines but had none that were strong enough. He decided to hire 5 locos from various railways to pull the stock, he hired an LMS Coronation Class, a W1 Class, a WD Austerity 4-6-0, a Merchant Navy Class, and a British Railways Standard 9F Class. They were successful at first, but kept getting teething troubles and kept running out of steam. He went to see Alfie at the Garage, he asked if they could sort out the Experimental Engines, and he did.

Alfie and the whole of his team had looked at the locomotives and fixed their issues. They proved successful at first but were soon to be a mistake, but I won't rush things, they took the 9F to the yard at Canton to help organise the HTVs for 8572 to take to Margam and then to Margam TC. Mr Griffiths had borrowed these engines for testing as he didn't want to damage any of them in the process. The locos were straining on the big incline but it was only because they've only just started working.

Barry was a bit jealous that he couldn't pull the heavier rolling stock, but soon got used to it and that's that. Halton was thinking to himself, "What if i pull those heavier vans and trucks, I'd have the most strongest non experimental engine on Mr Griffiths' railway, oh wait, I already have the strongest", he agreed to pull the trucks first with a new brake van and it went successful at first, only because he was pulling them along the straight tracks, they came to the incline, and they were straining, 60103 burst its boiler and another loco had to take the train away, it was the W1 Class, and that's the end of this rather boring story.
