The beautiful thing about life is, in a certain sense, its fragility. The gorgeous, shining thread of life, sometimes interweaving with others that yet could be snapped at any moment. So delicate making it so precious.Unlike you right now, being neither delicate nor precious.
"That's not very ladylike," Eric chuckled darkly while fiddling with a silver knife, tracing first down the blade then pressing the tip against his thumb and skimming it several times. His fingers felt the cool metal underneath with a calming familiarity.
You took a large breath and blew the air out loudly, puffing out your cheeks in the process. "Shut up, you moron. I bet that when they were handing out brains, you were gone to go shit," you spat, leaning forwards as far as the restraints would let you. "How's that for ladylike?"
You were tied up God knows where in the forest, with some man-boy who thinks himself handsome and perfect; manacles burning against your skin and legs attached to some random, luckily cushioned, chair. Running your mouth seemed the only viable option left, until whatever they were planning happened.
The room was quite spacious yet sparse. Nonetheless, each of the furnishings whether rock or wood seemed delicately and precisely made, with detailing and patterns that could not possibly be of natural creation. They were more than just skillful or intricate or gorgeous, they seemed perfect, as if nothing could be added nor retracted.
Eric, sprawled in his wooden throne, seemed to be observing you. His gaze was neither lustful nor evil. Rather, it appeared that he was in thought, calculating and wondering. Beside him were several warriors and they clearly watched you with some degree of hate or annoyance.
But then again, you had been running your mouth with disrespect and stupidities, making some of them clench their ears to make it stop.
One of the soldiers sighed and ran her hand through her black pixie cut then down her face. "Someone do something about her mouth," she muttered urgently. Her glare burnt the side of Eric's head.
She oscillated on her feet, hesitating to bind your mouth herself, after Eric just shrugged with a fatigued glance.
"Sorry but you're not my type, I'm in a relationship and you haven't bought me dinner," you enumerated as a reply, all the while with a undisturbed smile. She groaned in her palms, looking quite near to headbutting the stone wall. "Anyways, did you know that the fear of long words is called Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia and that's like thirty-six letters long, how crazy is that?"
Eric lifted his head from the fist on which it was resting and genuinely asked, yet sounding like a tired parent humoring a petulant child, "Will you shut up?"
"No, because you can't kill me, since you need me for some sort of transaction, I presume, and it's just sooo funny to annoy you."
"That pretty smirk will be gone in no time, princess."
"Ew?", you recoiled with a head tilt, genuinly disgusted by his answer. Even though, you started again, like a broken machine, "Anyways, did you know that one in 18 people have a third nipple, it's basically called polythelia and the third nipple is caused by a mutation in inactive genes. So, to explain it for the morons at the back-"
An orange grazed your head and it crashed behind you after its parabolic flight. "SHUT IT!"
It sludged down the wall towards the floor, seeping glistening orange sugar on its path.
Eric's hairs stood on end, matching the bulging veins on his arms and flaring nostrils.
Meanwhile, the soldiers as panickedly nonchalent as they could, glanced at each other with huge eyes, and begun checking if, as you said so, a third nipple had popped out of nowhere on them. Their clanking armour and layers did not make the task an easy one, which made for quite a funny show.
