Unavoidable Attraction

Midnight Meeting Part 2

Hermione paced frantically running her fingers through her messy hair. "Oh god. Oh god. What have I done?"

Severus watched her carefully as she panicked. He tried to find the words to say but struggled for anything to come out except for "Hermione." It was so quiet that she didn't hear him until he said it a little louder.

She paused mid step looking over at him. Tears were beginning to form at the edges of her eyes as she saw him sitting there emotionless.

"Hermione please sit down." She sighed and made her way to the couch plopping next to him and staring at him. "You didn't give me any time to process what you said."

"What is there to process Severus all i sa-"

"Please let me speak." He reached down and took her hands in his. "I thought I would only ever love one woman in my lifetime."

Hermione tried to turn away at this. Her thoughts went to Harry's late mother who Severus had had feelings for. He placed his hand on her cheek bring her to face him again.

"I thought I would only ever love one woman until I truly met you." Hermione smiled letting the tears roll down her face. She leaned forward letting their foreheads touch as they looked into each others eyes. "I love you Hermione Granger."

"And I love you Severus Snape."

They began to go in for a kiss when the door slammed open and an aurors wand was pointed right at them.

"What the..." He stared widely at the both of them trying to comprehend the situation. "Miss granger?! Jackson has been looking everywhere for you!"

"I...I um"

"What we're thinking?! Leaving without him?! Do you know how dangerous that is?"

Hermione just stared at him with panic in her eyes. She looked at Severus who seemed to be calm and collected as he stood to address his auror.

"It seems that Miss Granger and I are in quite a bit of trouble. Aren't we?"

"Well I'm going to have to inform Headmistress McGonagall about what I have seen tonight."

"Oh god, please no-"

"Hermione." Severus raised his hand to her. "We've been caught. We have to deal with the consequences."

Hermione stared up at him. He would most likely be fired, and her expelled when McGonagall found out about their relationship.

The auror turned to the open door gesturing for them to walk through it. Hermione say frozen on the couch watching Severus as he looked down and her.

He took her hand and helped her stand and held onto her as she stumbled a little. Her face had gone white and her eyes glazed over. She walked hand in hand with Severus out the door and into the classroom where Jackson stood shaking his head in disapproval.

"Miss granger, that was stupid. Do you know what could have happened to you?"

She said nothing in reply but squeezed Severus' hand tighter. They walked to the hallway and made their way to Professor McGonagall's office.

"It's alright dear." Severus said so quietly she barely heard. "Everything is going to be all right."
