Requested by Wherever5SOSAre ! (I hope you don't mind I'm changing it a little bit. I'm lazy-- didn't want to deal with three different H/N's and Y/N's and blah blah blah).

Also, if your bff is a dude: i'm sorry. just pretend. most of your friends are probably girls so I'm using the forms of "she".

"I'm nervous," Shawn admits from the driver's seat of his car as soon as you pull in to the restaurant you would be dining at. You'd decided it was time that he met your best friend formally instead of her just listening to you blab on about him, but he seemed to feel nauseous about the whole thing.

"Why? It's just lunch," You unbuckle your seatbelt, turning to face him.

"Yeah, but, if she doesn't like me-- you're basically forbidden to be with me anymore."

You roll your eyes. "That is so untrue. She has no control over me."

"Not technically, but best friends can always tell intentions and they assume things and then it's this big mess," He runs his fingers through his hair quickly, placing his hands on the steering wheel. "And I know I shouldn't, but I care about how people view my intentions."

"It's okay," You smile assuringly. "She might assume you're trying to hurt me, but I know you're not. So either way, I'm going to continue to be with you and she can't do anything about it."

"Snap," He widens his eyes. "Alrighty then."

"Ready to go?" You open up the passenger door slowly, waiting for him to open his. He nods and you climb out of the car, walking across the parking lot beside him and feeling his lace his fingers in yours.

You walk hand-in-hand into the restaurant, where you spot your best friend sitting at a table near the window on the right side.

You walk over to her, your fingers separating as you wave to her, getting closer.

"Hey," She smiles, placing her menu on the table. "Thought you weren't going to make it."

"Yeah, sorry we're late, the traffic was bad," Shawn says, pulling out your chair for you without even realizing he was doing it.

"It's all good," She nods. "I'm actually not that hungry."

"That's unusual for you," You say, laughing.

"I know, right?"

"Well you might not be," Shawn cuts in, "but I'm starving."

You scoff. "You're always starving."

"You're always starving," He mimics you in an annoying voice. "Let me live. The food here is level 10."

"Whatever," You laugh.

"You have no room to talk anyway," He adds. "Mrs. Just-One-More-Piece-Even-Though-I've-Already-Had-Three-Plates."

"Shut the actual f .uck up, okay, I have an excuse. I have cravings. You, you're just an over-eater."

"Awe, first fight," Your best friend coos.

You look at her and can't help but giggle.

"Oh, hey, um, Y/N? Can we talk in the bathroom for just a second?" She asks you.

You glance over at Shawn, who looks like he's expecting an explanation. You shrug as if to say you don't have one, then turn to your best friend and nod. "Sure," You say, getting up and following her to the restrooms.

As soon as you were out of the ear of everyone, you furrow your eyebrows and say, "What's so important?"

"Y/N, this is a classy place. You can't just... "

"I didn't mean to curse," You admit, which was true.

"It's not that," She shakes her head.

She must've seen the confused look on your face, because she points to a spot on her neck, indicating that you had something in that same spot.

You turn around and look in the mirror, gasping at the sight.

"People were staring," She says quietly, trying to hold in her laughter.

"As if they've never seen a hickey before?"

"Pretty sure there are at least four hickeys there."

You weren't sure how you were going to cover that up, but H/N holds out her hand to stop you before you tried anything.

"Here, take my scarf," She says, pulling it off of her own neck and carefully placing it over your head. "It's a good thing you have me."

You laugh again, slightly embarrassed before you realized you shouldn't be. She was your best friend, after all.

"So, you and Shawn must really have something, huh? Do you give him hickeys, too?"

You blush. "Of course."

"Where?" She smirks.

"Oh my god, can we just go back out there? He's sitting there alone thinking he's done something wrong."

So you hook arms and walk back out into the diner, sitting back down at your table and continuing your afternoon with the two most important people in your life.
