Christmas morning was colder than any other day this week.

You woke up to your toes freezing cold under the duvet, the bedroom window left open from last night when Andrew was searching for Santa, now blinding you by the brightness of the snow outside.

The floor was covered in used tissues from last night, when you couldn't stop crying, so much that you wished that he was there to comfort you-- but then you just started all over again. In reality, the only person you wanted to talk to about Shawn's absence, was Shawn.

Seeing them there was like a reminder, a reminder of the empty spot on the bed next to you, and the fact that it was Christmas morning and that you were alone.

Before you knew it, the bedroom door bursts open, Asher and Andrew running through it and jumping on your bed immediately.

"Mom!!" Andrew yells, breaking your eardrums. "Wake up!!!"

It was almost as if they weren't aware that your puffy red eyes were wide awake and alert.

"Mom, Santa left us a bunch of presents!!" Asher yells, getting up in your face and kneeing you in the hip.

"Okay, okay," you groan, pushing yourself out of bed and stepping onto the strewn about pile of tissues, that was more like branches after a storm than an actual pile. The boys didn't seem to notice, however.

"C'mon, hurry!" Asher yells, grabbing your hand and pulling you towards the door. You couldn't help but laugh at their enthusiasm as you were tugged all the way down the stairs and into the living room, your slippers dragging against the polished wood floor of the entry way.

You swiftly make your way to the Christmas tree, where the boys immediately squat down next to the tree and begin locating all the gifts with their names on them.

Their buzzing excitement and contagious little smiles, that reminded you so much of Shawn's, seemed to distract you a little from the pain. It didn't help that they looked so similar to him, though.

Somewhere in between the evenly distribution of presents, the doorbell rang, echoing through your whole house. You turn to look at the front door, hoping whoever it was would just let themselves in, but the door remained closed.

"I'll be right back," you say, making sure they both heard. "Don't start without me!"

You rush to the front door, still caught up in the excitement. You had literally just rolled out of bed, so you hoped the person on the other side didn't mind you wearing stained Winnie The Pooh pajama's topped off with makeup-smeared and tear-stained cheeks.

As soon as you opened the door, false hope rushed through you suddenly. The first thing you saw was a tall, lean brunette boy wearing an ugly Christmas sweater, turned around with his head to you. Just seeing him there, you were ready to jump right into his arms.

"Shaw-- "

All at once, the realization hit you, as soon as he spun around. The person standing on your front porch holding an armful of wrapped presents, wasn't your well expected husband.

It was Cameron.

"Babe, stay in the car! I'll come out in a sec!" He yells towards his truck, parked in the driveway of your house-- where his wife, Lexi, waits.

"Hey, Y/N," he says, turning towards you again.

"Cameron? W-what are you-- "
