Isaac was so tall. That was the best part about the way he looked.

"Are you okay?" Isaac asked.

"What?"

"Your heart rate just went up," he said.

"Stop listening."

Maybe the best part about him was his cheekbones. Maybe that was it.

"God, what's wrong with you today?" Isaac asked.

"Stop eavesdropping on my heart," you said.

"It's not that," he said. "It's the smell. I don't know how to describe it. You just have this weird feeling."

It wasn't as simple as his appearance. Isaac's attractiveness leaked out of him for sure, but it was something about the way he talked to you that made you want him. Even today, just hitting punching bags. You wanted him.

"It's a really weird mixture of emotions," Isaac said.

"Like what?"

"I can smell the anxiety. I smell the defensiveness, the nausea. You're uneasy. You're angry. You're hostile."

He knew you so well. It was creepy the way he could tell that much about you by your chemo signals. Even a werewolf as strong as Derek couldn't have gotten that much.

"I don't understand how that's weird," you said.

"Well that's not," Isaac said. "You're also aroused. Compulsive. It's not like you. You're normally not so impulsive. It's messing with your heart."

"It's not so bad."

He had a little too much on you. You wondered if he already knew that you liked him.

"I figured it out," Isaac said.

"What?"

"You're horny."

"Oh god, Isaac."

"I'm right," he smiled. "I know I'm right. So who is it?"

"Who is who?"

"Who's the guy?" He asked. "Or girl. I don't know."

You stared at him as he anxiously awaited an answer. You could lie to him. It wouldn't be hard to tell him you liked Scott.

"Guess," you told him.

Isaac thought for a minute before smiling, answering: "Me."

You froze. That's why he had been questioning you all day. He already knew. Isaac's smile went away.

"Oh," Isaac said. "It is me."

He hadn't known. Your face turned red, and Isaac looked at the ground. It was as if he couldn't bear to look at the disgusting creature that was obsessing over him.

"Sorry," you said.

"No. [Y/N], you didn't do anything."

"It'll go away, I swear," you told him. "It's just a crush. You're not that cute, anyway."

"But I don't want it to go away," Isaac said.

You didn't react. You ran his simple words over in your head, not wanting to mistake his affection for something else. Instead of answering with something sexy or witty, you said, "I don't get it."

"I like you."

You had never imagined this being so awkward. What were you supposed to do? Give him a pat on the shoulder and tell him you feel the same way? Skip all of that and make out with him? You settled on making a small and indecisive speech, one that seemed way too planned.

"Isaac," you started. "I don't want to lose our friendship over this. I really do like you, but I don't want to rush into things and break up the pack. I also don't want to avoid the conflict and try to move on, because it's not going to work."

"Then we'll have to do what's in the middle," Isaac said. "I'll take you on a date, and we'll talk about our lives. You don't have to plan ten years into the future, you know."

"Okay," you acted on instinct.

"Olive Garden. 7:00," he said. "Don't be late. I like to eat all the bread sticks."
