QOTD: Where are you reading this from?

You sat down in the booth across from Isaac, picking up a menu. The waitress brought you two waters, and you sat in silence for a while before Isaac spoke up.

"What are you getting?"

"I don't know yet."

"Oh."

If it seemed like their was tension between you, it was because there was. You had told Isaac you loved him plenty of times, and he never seemed to reciprocate, so you sat him down and poured out your heart to him, and he had nothing to say. And still, at dinner he had nothing to say.

"Are you mad at me?" He asked.

"No."

"You seem mad."

"I'm not."

"I'm pretty sure you're mad."

"Shut up or I'll kill you."

"Okay."

You reverted back to the tense silence, though he kept staring at you. You kept your nose in your menu, not planning on talking to him. After all, he didn't seem to want to talk about... certain issues.

"I know you're mad, and I want you to understand," he said calmly.

"Understand what?" You snapped.

"I've never said it to anyone before."

Your head jerked up, and he suddenly averted eye contact as if he hadn't been watching you. "No one? Ever?"

"It's a hard thing for me to admit, but I want you to know-"

"Isaac, baby, you don't need to explain yourself."

"I want you to know that I love you, and even if I never say it again after today, I do. I love you very much. And I'm sorry you didn't know that, and I'm sorry that I hurt you."

"Isaac," you reached across the table and grabbed his hand. "It's okay. I know."

"Great, so now that that's over, want to split a milkshake? I need something cold. It's a little warm in my scarf."
