You crawled slowly through the dusty air duct, cursing every time you banged your knee against the metal. You coughed as a dust bunny flew into your throat, wishing the power plant had better maintenance. In its defense, it hadn't been running in years.

The sound of something smashing below you alerted you that you were directly above the fight. You laid down flat on your stomach, and pulled out a metal square to get a better view.

Down below, you could see Liam fighting off Tracy, Corey and Josh. You rolled your eyes at the young Beta, who was obviously losing.

You took a minute to watch your egotistical nemesis battle the triad of evil Chimeras before eventually giving in after seeing Josh throw him into a wall.

Only a Beta yourself, you weren't exactly sure how the fight would end up, but you were ready to make it a more even fight.

You jumped down from the air duct and landed quietly behind Corey, who was occupied with watching Josh punch Liam.

You grabbed him by the neck, and hurled him across the room into Josh, who tumbled to the ground. Josh angrily pushed Corey off of him, and stood up.

Tracy hissed, and ran towards you at full speed. Avoiding her tail, you ducked her attack, stuck your foot out and tripped her. You then proceeded to grab a pipe off the ground, just as she was getting back to her feet. She lunged at you again, and you hit her over the head with the pipe, knocking her unconscious.

Liam was struggling against an adamant Josh and a reluctant Corey. Spotting weakness, you ran towards Corey. He noticed you, and put his back to the wall, disappearing. You took a lucky guess and threw the pipe where it seemed his head would be. You heard the sound of metal on person, and Corey reappeared, falling unconscious.

Josh didn't even bother to look up from beating Liam, who squirmed around on the ground. Josh held him by the shirt collar, punching him down and pulling him up to hit him again.

"Josh," you tried to get him attention. He ignored you.

"How's it feel?" He screamed at Liam. "How's it feel to be on the losing side?"

You sighed and approached the dueling boys. Josh swung his arm back again, but you grabbed his hard fist in your hand.

"You're the only conscious one here who would know the answer to that question," you said.

He let out a strange sounding growl, and you squeezed tightly on his hand. He tried to punch you with his other arm, but you grabbed that fist as well, and put your knee in his stomach. Josh grunted and doubled over, giving you more power over him. You pushed him against the wall next to Corey, let go of one fist, put your hand on his face, and shoved his head against the wall. He fell to the ground.

"I wish Scott would let us kill them," you grumbled, walking back over to Liam and offering him your hand. He glared at you, but accepted help up.

Corey made a groaning sound from the ground, and you picked the pipe up off the ground, throwing it back at him. He fell limp yet again.

"You okay?" You asked Liam.

"I had that," he answered grumpily. "You shouldn't have come."

"You were getting your ass handed to you," you argued. "I honestly just came to watch, but you looked so pitiful that I had to join in."

Liam glared at you and started walking away. You always acted superior in front of Liam. Taunting him had become a sport for you.

"What? No thank you?" You called after him. "No kissing my feet and begging me to take you home?"

Liam turned around and walked back, stopping less than an inch in front of you. "Thank. You," he said slowly. You could feel his breath on your face.

Liam reached out with his lips and kissed you. You kissed him back, as if he were the oxygen you needed to survive.

He pulled back and walked away again, leaving you standing in the middle of the power plant. For the first time ever around him, you were speechless.
