"Supply and demand!" Coach Finstock said, pacing the front of the classroom. "I want a twenty slide presentation on it by Thursday."

The entire class groaned in response. Stiles rolled his eyes into the back of his head.

"Oh, shut up. It's easy. And you get to work with a partner."

The class seemed happier about this information, and everyone started looking around to lock eyes with their friends.

"But I've chosen partners for you."

The class groaned again, even louder this time. You sat quietly in the back of the classroom, not caring who you had to work with. As long as it wasn't-

"[Y/N] and Jackson!" Coach read off.

You sighed and made eye contact with the boy in the front of the room. You knew how it went with Jackson. You would do all the work, and he would put his name on it.

Coach finished rattling of his list, and told you to get to work. Jackson walked to the back of the classroom and sat down in the desk next to you.

"So do you want to plan it all out now and meet in the library after school to type it up?" He asked.

"What?" That wasn't what you had expected him to say. You expected him to tell you to do it all yourself.

Jackson talked obnoxiously slow. "I said do you want to plan it all out-"

"I heard what you said. I just thought you wouldn't want to help with the presentation."

"And why not?"

"Because you always make other people do the work for you."

"Well, maybe I've turned over a new leaf," he said smugly. "Now can we get to work?"

You and Jackson worked up to the bell planning your presentation. You were pretty happy with the work you had done, and surprised at how much Jackson had contributed, considering he doesn't have to do much except show up to get an A. Being the star lacrosse player meant that Principal Thomas did everything humanly possible to make sure Jackson's grades met expectations.

You met Jackson in the library as soon as school ended, and you immediately started typing away on the computer.

"Maybe we could take a break," Jackson suggested.

"We just started."

"We have plenty of time."

"Look, I know you're used to just doing whatever you want, but some of us, like me, actually have to work to get a good grade. So if you don't want to do any work you can just leave. I'll do it myself."

"You know what? I am used to doing whatever I want. And this... This is why I came here."

He grabbed the back of your head and leaned forward in his seat, kissing you on the lips. You were surprised, even more surprised than you were when he volunteered to help you with the project. But you kissed back. You kissed back like he was fire, and you were fuel.

Jackson moved away and pulled the keyboard in front of himself. "Now," he breathed out. "We can get to work."
