"I can't remember," you said miserably.

"Well try harder," Ethan responded aggressively.

Aiden paced the room as his brother interrogated you. You had recently stumbled upon some information that could help the twins track down their old pack's emissary, who had escaped while they were becoming Alphas. However, when on your way to relay the news, you were attacked, and couldn't remember a thing.

"Is there anything we can do?" Ethan looked at his brother.

"There is one thing," Aiden said, looking down at you seated in the chair.

"What is it?" You asked.

"I'm not exactly sure," he uncrossed one arm and flashed his claws. "I've never done it before."

"Aiden," you said meekly. "Don't."

"I don't want to," he sighed.

"Aiden, I'm not sure," Ethan interjected.

"[Y/N], I really care about you," Aiden said. "And that's why I'm going to make this quick, okay?"

Aiden moved towards you, and you unsuccessfully tried to lunge away. With his eyes full of regret, he plunged his claws into the back of your neck. Ethan wrapped one arm around you and one around his brother as your vision turned blurry.

"Don't tell them I'm here," the emissary said.

"I have to tell them. I'm sorry. They're my friends," you looked down.

"Please," he begged.

"I'm sorry. I already texted them."

"What did you say?"

"I told them I know where you are," you said.

"But you didn't specify where?"

"No, not yet."

"You seem like a nice girl, [Y/N]. And I accept your apology, but I'm afraid you won't be able to forgive me."

You backed up, and he picked up a piece of wood and charged towards you. You turned to run, and he hit you over the head.

You gasped as you breathed back into life. Aiden stumbled backwards, and you fell to the floor, trying desperately to catch your breath. Ethan looked between the two of you, frightened.

"[Y/N]," Aiden breathed out, kneeling next to you.

"I'm fine," you panted.

"Ethan," he said tiredly. "He's at the old warehouse. You can take him alone."

Ethan nodded and ran out the door. You glared at the breathless boy next to you.

"I'm so sorry. I had to," he sat all the way down, stretching out his legs.

"You once said that you had to protect me," you spat. "Now you care more about yourself."

"I didn't to this for me," he seemed a tad angry. "I did it to protect you."

"You risked killing me for your own personal gain. That has nothing to do with my protection," you said.

"I risked killing you to track down the only person left who posed a threat to you! I risked dying to kill my own pack so I could become stronger! So I could protect you!"

"You were protecting yourself," you doubted him.

"I didn't! I love you!"

You blinked. "You love me, like as a friend?"

"No, dumb ass. I love you. I love you like as the love of my life. But now that I've been inside your mind, I'm not so sure I even want you."

"You're in love with me," you whispered.

"Finally get that through your thick skull?" He pouted.

"Yeah, I got it," you said, leaning over and planting a kiss on his lips.
