~Steve's POV~

Serena has been so helpful. Sometimes I feel like all this is a dream and that I'm going to wake up alone in a hospital room or something. From the moment I laid eyes on her when I opened that car door, I felt this connection between us. Kind of like the one I had with Peggy. I couldn't help but let my mind wonder off about Peggy, about how I should have told her how I felt about her before I plunged into my death, well what I thought was my death. I sighed and looked out the window from the couch. 'The world has changed so much...' Sometimes I wished that I had died on that day, but I feel like I was kept alive for a reason.

"Hey Steve," Serena entered the room dressed in some shorts that were, well, short, and a tank top that said 'no pain no gain' along with a grey jacket over it, "Ready to go to the gym?" I responded to her with a smile and a nod before standing up and going to my bedroom to change into a v-neck and some sweatpants.

I guess Serena decided to join me with punching bags. As the two of us worked out, I couldn't help myself from stealing glances at her and admire her. She's tough... Just like Peggy... A part of me wants to find out if Peggy is still out there. Even after all these years I still feel something for her. 'But is it love?' I asked myself as I busted open the bunching bag open, making the sand that fill its insides spill out. "Steve you okay?" Serena asked me, handing me a water bottle. "Yeah, just a lot on my mind. Just getting it out." I sighed, giving her a small smile. "Maybe take a break then, just little breather to clear your mind a bit." She recommended as I drank some water. "It's fine, really." I smiled, grabbing another punching bag. Serena reached up and tried to detach the broken bag, but I stopped her, "Serena it's fine, I got it." I couldn't help but chuckle slightly at how she tried to reach the hook but couldn't because of her height.

Serena looked back at me and pouted, sticking her tongue out at me. "I'm going to run to the store to get some groceries. You know your way back to the house right?" I replied to her with a nod and she left.

I decided to go for a run after I split open some more punching bags. I ran around the block that Serena's house was at, thinking about my life as I ran. It wasn't long before my mind had pulled up Peggy along with my feelings. What threw me off the most was that as I was thinking about Peggy, Serena's face kept popping up, drawing me away from Peggy. I love Peggy, yet the feeling wasn't strong when I see Serena's face. I really didn't get it, why would I feel that way about Serena? It feels like I'm more drawn to Serena than Peggy, which is strange because I love Peggy. 'Do I? Do I really love Peggy? Or was that just some puppy love?' I asked myself as I came to a slow stop.

"Oh hey you're back. I'm making dinner, burgers tonight. How do you want your burger? Rare, medium rare, medium, or well done?" Serena asked when I walked into the kitchen. "Uhm medium rare please. I'm going to wash up real quick." I told her before going to my room and grabbing a set of clean clothes and going to the bathroom and taking a quick shower.

After I got out of the shower, I changed into a black v-neck with some grey sweatpants. Then, I went to the kitchen to check up on Serena. "Your mind more cleared up now?" She asked, looking back at me with those light icy blue eyes of hers. The moment I looked into those enchanting eyes of hers, I got lost in them. "Steve?" Her angelic voice broke me out of my trance. "Huh," I blinked my eyes and shakes my head a bit before looking back at her, seeing her cute face with flushed cheeks, "Oh, yeah, sorry. Yes my mind is more clear. Are you okay? Your cheeks are all red." I didn't know that it was possible for her cheeks to get more red, but they did. "Oh uh nothing, probably just the heat from the stove." She said in a soft voice voice that was almost inaudible. "Need help with anything?" I asked, leaning against the island. "Uhh I think I'm good, I'm pretty much done, just waiting for this last patty to finish cooking." She replied, smiling a bit before turning her attention back to the stove.

Since she didn't need any help, I went to the living room and sat on the couch and turned on the TV. I changed the channel to the news channel. "Another attack happened not to long ago in Brooklyn, but we might have a lead on who is behind these attacks. There was a witness who has agreed to share what they saw. So sir, if you could tell us what you witness then it would be much appreciated." The camera showed a man, probably in his mid 20s, and a microphone was held up to him. "Well, I didn't see much, just a man about as tall as me who was skinny and dressed in all black with a black beanie. I didn't see his face or anything, by the time I saw him he ran off. Well, he disappeared not run off. I was barely able to get a glimpse at him." The witness told the camera. "Another?" Serena asked, handing my a plate. "Yeah, this seems like something the police should look into more." I replied, thanking her and taking the plate of food.

The two of us said nothing as we ate our burger and fries.

"Serena? Serena," I called out to her, but she seemed to be deep in her thoughts because she didn't respond. "Hey," I said softly, placing my hand on her shoulder, making her jump and grab my wrist. It took her a second to realize what she just did, "Oh my gosh Steve I'm so sorry." "It's fine, it's may fault, I startled you," then I looked at my wrist that was still in her hand, and I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. Serena raised an eye brow before looking at her hand that was on my wrist, quickly unclamping her hand from my wrist and apologizing.

"Hey you okay? You went into some kind of attack mode." I asked looking at her in the eyes. "Uhm yeah... Just a little scared about the attacks." She said, well more of lied. I could tell that she was lying, and the smile that she was giving me was a fake one as well. But I decided to not push, if she wanted to tell me then she would have told me straight up front.
