"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Look at what Charlie did to my drawing!" A little girl with tears streaming down her face, came running towards me. Her short brown hair bounced in every step she takes.

I kneeled down beside her and confronted her. "Shh...it's okay Irene. Don't cry. Come, let me see."

She handed me a picture with her and her family together in a meadow but was perfectly ruined by a black crayon saying 'Charlie was here!".

"See....he messed up my drawing!" She whined with another set of tears poured down.

"Shh...shh... Look, I'm going to talk to Charlie and punish him. Will that make you feel better? If I punish him?" I continued to rub her arms.

All she did was nod her head and that beautiful smile of hers showed up on her face. I wiped those tears away and she looked up at me with the similar blue eyes both her and her father shared.

"Come on now, let's make another picture. Okay?" I stood up as she grabbed my hand.

"Yay!" She jumped in excitement.

We headed back to her room which was decorated with the color pink. Everywhere I look, it's nothing but pink. Maybe some hints of white, but nonetheless, pink.

"Sit mommy, you can help me draw." She pulled out a small pink chair for me to sit in.

A few minutes passed by full of silence until there was knocking on the door.

"Come in!" Irene shouted.

We both looked up to see Henry poking his head through the door.

"Daddy! I'm so sorry I forgot!" Irene ran over to Henry, hugging his legs.

"Forgot what?" I raised an eyebrow.

"It was our tea party!" She screamed.

I almost bursted out laughing but I had to bite my lip hard enough to stop myself.

"Wait! Mommy you join us too! Can you please?" She pouted.

"Of course, I would love too." I responded.

"Yay! Come daddy, you can sit next to me! I will get everything for our tea party!"

She ran off to the other side of her room, leaving Henry and I to ourselves.

"So....when did this happen?" I asked.

"Well....it started out with her asking me do I want to join her in her tea party and of course, I couldn't say no." He reasoned.

"Daddy, do you want your usual?" Irene called out.

"You already know!" Henry shouted back.

"So this isn't the first time?" I crossed arms.

"It's not my first time....." He said hesitantly. "It's probably my....3rd time?"

This time, I couldn't help it but burst out laughing.

"What's so funny mommy?" Irene asked bringing a pink tray with 3 small tea cups on top.

"Nothing baby. You want to continue your drawing? We all could. Do you want to?"

"Okay." She shrugged and focused all her attention on her drawing.

But my attention was all on her.

My daughter.

My Irene.
