Her heart continued beating faster and faster, her hands became sweaty and shaky while starring down at that little screen that showed nothing but a little, measly plus sign. She immediately felt nauseous and ran to the bathroom to empty out the contents of her stomach.
At first, she did nothing but sat there, looking off into space. She honestly didn't know what to do. She thought never in a million years would she be one of those girls. Never.
But now I am.... She thought bitterly.
With weak legs, she got up slowly and rested her hands on the sink, putting her weight on it.
After a while, she decided to brush her teeth, and looked in the mirror doing so. "What are you looking at?" She glared at herself, with toothpaste filled in her mouth. Rolling her eyes, she spit it out, "Great, I'm talking to myself.."
Walking out the bathroom, she sat back on her bed.
Unconsciously twirling the ring on her finger, she bit her lip while looking back down at that bland plus sign.
A knock on her door made her jump as she quickly hid it behind her back.
Joy's head poked out then she entered the room with a nervous smile on.
"What's up?"
Joy looked like she was having an inner battle with herself, deciding whether or not she should say it. And so, she blurted it out.
"I told Henry I was a virgin!" Her eyes widen as her hand flew straight to her mouth.
"What?" She sputtered out, "You are a virgin?! Really!?"
Joy then looked at her friend carefully and noticed how on edge and anxious she looked. "Hey, you okay-"
"Yes, I'm fine." She bit out.
Joy paused before saying, knowing she isn't wanted, "Alright...I'll just....go."
Please help me.... She pleaded but she couldn't bring herself to say it.
But it was too late, Joy has already left.
Suddenly feeling angry, she threw the foreign object which burns her hands, and hits the wall, smashing it into pieces.
Then as if a wave of realization came over her, she fell to the ground and poured her tears out. Sobbing continuously, she wondered if anyone could hear her cries.
Abortion....
NO!
She thought to herself that she can't be that cruel. That is an awful way to deal with this situation. Can't just get rid of it like its nothing. Just can't.
Then with a new idea, she stood up and headed to the infirmary. She obviously didn't know what to do and so, went there. But before leaving, she straighten herself, wiped those stray tears, and gather as much dignity she had, and left.
Walking down the corridors, she realized that going to the infirmary here is an awful idea. These people will talk and talk about anything juicy. Rumors spread pretty fast in the place.
Thinking about this, she didn't notice that she stood in front of the door and turned the knob before even thinking it over. Although, if she did, she would just back out and leave.
"How can I help you?" A voice said to her.
"Oh, um I...can I see a doctor, please? Preferably female?" She shifted her feet nervously as the lady looked at her warily.
