mr. gilinsky, my boss, what a grumpy man. he's always angry with me, but is so kind to others that work in the building. maybe it's because he thinks i'm highly inexperienced?

i set his black coffee down on his desk with my shaky hand, trying not to spill it. i hate stepping foot into Gilinsky's Holdings Inc., but i'm going to need all of the money i can get.

i hate being his assistant. i absolutely hate it, but i can't do anything about it. he won't bump me up and i sure as hell don't want to be a janitor in this building. i watch warily as he takes a sip.

he cringes, "you didn't add enough sugar."

"sorry, sir. i'll go put some more in." i apologize, grabbing the cup.

i hate him, but i can't show it. i have to put on a presentable, pretty little girl, face. this job pays very well and i can't risk losing it.

"stop messing things up. being an assistant shouldn't be hard." he chides, making me blink and swallow a lump in my throat.

"yes, sir." i reply, but it wasn't even a yes or no question.

"it took you three weeks of waiting to get this job." he narrows his eyes at me, his voice ice cold. "it'll take me three seconds to fire you."
