Chapter 2: Meet Lapis

Lapis P.O.V

I sat down at my usually seat on the bus. Staring out the window blankly like i do every bus jouney to school. I plugged my earphones into my ears and began to play my favorite songs.

After some time i noticed a girl with triangular shaped hair walking past. The bus stopped at a red light, giving me more time to look at the girl. Apparently there was a new girl starting at my school today. I looked down at the girl, she looked quite short, maybe she's younger than me and will be the younger classes. I noticed she was wearing big geeky glasses, which made me laugh. They looked way too big on her.

The bus started moving as i began to watch her grow smaller and smaller the further the bus drove.

I began to think about my friends, well if you can call them that. Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst are supposed to be my friends, but they leave me out, and don't include me in things. I sighed.

My best friend is a boy called Steven. Sadly he's a few years younger than me, so he's in year 9. I could really do with some new friends. Maybe me and the new girl can be friends? Hopefully.

The smile on my face vanished when i remembered about Jasper. Jasper is the schools bully. She loves to pick on me all the time. She looked me in her locker before and left me in it, as if i was her prisoner. She let me out lunch time only to beat me up.

The bus stopped and i shoved my earphones into my pocket.

When i got to class, i saw the girl from earlier sitting in my seat. I walked over to her, and not to make a bad first impression, i happily sat in the seat next to her, since no one sits next to me.

When i sat down, the girl next to me was drawing in her notebook. When i took a proper look, her drawings and illustrations took me by surprise. She is really good! I thought.

I tried getting her attention, but it didn't work, so i began to look around the old classroom.

My "friends" were sitting around a table in the front of the room while i was located at the back. The girls were talking to the boys.
I sighed. Some men in this school are just assholes.

"Hi..." Said a quiet yet beautiful voice. I turned my head to look at the girl next to me.

"Hi me?" I questioned.

"Who else?" She said bitterly before returning to her notebook.
How rude.

"Sorry i just wasn't paying attention..." why did i apologie?

"Im sorry too, i'm not really good at talking to people..." I smiled.

"So you're the new girl right?" She nodded. "Would you like me to give you a tore around the school?" She looked at me puzzled but yet excited.

"Really?!" She questioned. Maybe she thought i was joking.

"Yeah really." I gave her a smile, which she returned.

"Thanks, i could really do with a map, i almost got lost just making my way here." I laughed.

I was about to say she was funy until pur teacher walked in.

Our teachers name is Mrs Quartz. Her first name though is Rose. She's married to Greg, a man who owns a car wash just down the road. I looked over at Pearl, whom was staring dreamly at Rose.

I swear Pearl has a huge crush on Rose. I think before my thoughts got inturupded by Rose- i mean Mrs Quartz.

"We have a new student joining us today her name is Peridot." She pointed to the girl who was siting next to me.

She gave an awkward wave to the pupils sitting in front of us. Mrs Quartz carried on rambling about grades and homework. Getting bored i looked over at Peridot.

"Nice to meet you Peridot, My names lapis, Lapis Lazuli." I held out my hand and she shook it. In that moment i felt like i was special.
