Chapter 5: Bullies

Lapis P.O.V

Once science had finished I waited outside for Peridot. I took a peep in the small window on the door.

Peridot was sitting next to Pearl in the front of the class. I looked at Mr Dewy, and then at Pearl. From my perspective he was giving her bedroom eyes. I shook my head. What is it with Pearl and teachers?

The class stood up and tucked in their chairs in, and soon began to rush to the door.

Pearl came out first, I greeted her with a hello, which surprisingly she returned. She invited me to join her and the girls to lunch.

"So, are you coming or not?" I paused, remembering I had to give Peridot a tour of the school.

"I'm sorry, I have to do something... Maybe tomorrow?"

"Sure." She gave me a smile before heading off to join the others.

I turned around and saw Peridot shyly waiting, twirling a loose strand of her blonde hair around her fingers.

"You should of went with them." She said no louder than a whisper.

"To be honest, I'd rather spend time with you Peridot." Did I just say that out loud?"

I could feel a blush appearing on my cold face.

"So let's begin the tour." I said moving my arms for effect.

Peridots P.O.V

"So that's the school. The only thing left is the....cafeteria..." Lapis paused. She was starting at a girl with long white hair. Her skin was tanned and she was wearing orange and black. She looked incredibly tall. Taller than Lapis.

Lapis turned around and started to move in the opposite direction.

"Lapis?" I asked, I began to feel worried.

"Did someone say Lapis?" My head turned to the direction of where the voice came from. The girl, whom I don't know the name of came closer and closer to us.

I looked back at Lapis. She was frozen, and her face scrunched up.

"Turn around." Commanded the girl. Lapis slowly turned around.

"What do you want Jasper?" Lapis' face showed anger.

I took a step back not wanting to be involved in any conflict.

"Who's your friend there." The girl, who's name I'm guessing is 'Jasper', turned to me. Shit.

She began to walk towards me. Lapis jumped inbetween us and shoved Jasper back.

"You stay away from Peridot!" From what i could see Lapis had tears in eyes and her voice was shaky.

"Oh? Peridot is is? She's a little short isn't she? And you! How dare you tell me what to do!" She slapped Lapis across her face which caused her to fall to the ground.

I felt my heart sink and throb at the sight. "Lapis!" Jasper grabbed my chin and pulled me close to her.

"What are you going to do about it shorty?" I hadn't realised it until now, that surrounding us was a crowd of pupils.

My face scrunched up in anger and I kicked Jasper in her womens-hood. She let out a yelp, and bent down to hug her waist.

"You asshole! You won't get away with this!"

Lapis grabbed my wrist and we ran down the hallyway together.

"You can have some of my lunch." She said. I hadn't realised it yet, but i was starving.

"So where are we going?"

"To a secret place of mine. It's an abandoned classroom. Don't worry, the teachers know I go there." She paused. "Don't look so frightened, when i mean abandoned, i just mean it's empty not scary."

I let out a sigh of relief. I looked down at my hand. A blush creeping upon my face.

She's holding my hand...

I flushed a deep red and tried to think about something else.

***Timeskip to fourth lesson***
Lapis P.O.V

It was now fourth lesson, Peridot and me had Art.
Lunch was horrible. I had a bruise on my cheek, and it stung. I felt sorry for Peridot. Jasper will try and bully her too. I sighed dropping my head into my hands.

What am I going to do?

I took a glimpse of Peridot. She was drawing in her new sketch book, her tounge sticking out of her mouth as she drew. She looked so concentrated on her work that she didn't sence me staring at her.

She looks so cute. I blushed. Did i just think that? Peridot's a girl!

I shook my head.

Stupid emotions. I thought, before returning to my drawing.
